Hi all, wondering what the difference is between 6002, and 6005? Is there a subtle, (or obvious) difference between the two, or is it a market designation? Is the 6005 for the Australian market, perhaps? Thanks for any info.

The obvious would be the one or two lines of text under the Seiko logo. 6005 first. 6002 second pic. Rob

Be very careful buying these models. Any of the 6139-600x models. Lots of fakes on the interweb. Best to post photos on here first if you are unsure. Trust me out of about 15 pages on ebay they other day they were all fakes, badly cobbled together and just pants. I didn't see a single one I'd have bought myself.
There use to be a great buyers guide on here but it's gone?

Dial text differentiates the two. Rob's pictures are a nice example. The 6005 does not have "Chronograph" and the 6002 does not have "21j" above the Suwa (hidden by the chrono hand on Rob's first pic).
I'm a big fan of THIS site for beginners looking to purchase one of these.

My favourite was the silver one. Looks to be a nice Resist on ebay at the moment. I regret selling mine so I might make that one mine.

You mean it does not have "17j" above the Suwa, right?

Prices have increased considerably for the “Pogues” especially this desirable reference. There’s a couple 6138’s I’d like to add but those prices are insane

For the better part of a decade I put a $100 bid on every nice 6139-600x I saw come across Ebay. I lost 90% of the time, but I must have bid on hundreds of them. I am thinking about cashing in a few of those chips since demand is so high and the supply (of watches that are worth a shit) is so low.

They are worth what folk want to pay I reckon but still I know I can get a much better watch both technically and reliability for less. I guess it's like some of the cars I have. Drove them. Wore them out. Stuffed them in lockup garages for years. My BMW E9 I paid £1250GBP for in the 1990s is now valued at £80k. Would I pay 80k for it now? Hell no! My e-type cost £5,200 in 1991. Value now £150k +
I hate seeing all the rubbish on ebay folk are buying thinking they are getting the real deal. 2 watches worth buying on ebay in the past month. That's it. The rest I wouldn't piss on.

Sold for $733.32!
I was a bidder up to $650.00 with the plan of selling off some things to defray the cost. So I was willing to go a couple hundred more keeping my plan in mind. Forget it! Last 5 seconds it ballooned. We'll see if it actually gets paid for or if it gets relisted.
I really want one to add to my 6139 collection. I have a mint bezel, chapter ring, and case to use to restore it to a much nicer condition while keeping the old parts.

I saw. That would have come up nice with a little careful work on the case using stones and the correct tools. Not a quick spin on the lathe with a bit of sand paper and a hit with a polishing mop. I don't like changing cases personally. I won't buy watches from collectors or that have been restored for this reason. I know that's not a popular view but I don't care. I've scrapped loads of good dials and case backs because I didn't ever want them being used to make watches out of parts. Just my take on it. Be lucky
