I've always loved this 6139-6032, but it had a pretty badly damaged case, no case edges to really speak of, dings, dangs and dungs...it had the feeling of having belonged to a car mechanic, maybe it did. i sent it to Kamil Dunkowski, aka The Lapinist, and this guy is a miracle worker, and he probably has tools the average mechanic couldn't even dream of. His process is a bit of a mystery to me, but it obviously includes adding a lot of metal to the case, and then perfectly subtracting it back down to factory specs. I contacted him last March, and put down a deposit on the job. He requested the watch in October, and i sent it right over. It came back to me today, January 15th. So my watch was only gone for 3 months, not a bad wait. i wish other watchmakers would work this way, keep a strict line, not allow the squeaky wheels to cut the line, it keeps it all predictable, and your money holds your place in line. So your watch doesn't sit there for a year, or 9 months, in this case....I wish this methodology would become the industry standard. It cost 250 euros to have this work done, and i don't regret it. It has transformed the watch. I have no plans to ever sell this watch, but if i did, i would offer a full disclosure on the work that was done...it is essentially indistinguishable from new. I give the Lapinist my highest possible recommendation. Before and after...

yup, poland.
he has a very humane work policy i wish other watchmakers would employ. he's got his queue. you reserve a spot in that queue, but you dont have to send your watch in until it's almost your turn. you get your watch back in a month nor two, and that's it. no baiting and switching, which is my typical experience, being told there's no queue, and then waiting and waiting for months and months while forum members boast of the quick work being done on their watches. yuck.
