Seiko made some stunning dress watches. This is a bit unusual. I found in listed on Gumtree many moons ago for less than £100. The watch is a 6106 with hacking on the seconds at set. The full model is 6106-8060 and it dates to April 1968 which makes it 2 months newer than myself and in a lot nicer original condition. The watch is pretty much NOS to look at. The bracelet is its original Stelux articulated item. One of the prettiest watch bands full stop in my humble. Anyway I've kicked the bugger back into life with a full service. I had to replace the worn spring barrel and the main spring but everything else is as it was in 1968. Even the crystal is the original.
Since the service it now keeps a dead straight line on the time grapher at pretty much every position. 250 amp, 0.0 beat error a maximum of 2 seconds per day error.... with a pinch of salt. It's bloody good though.

That’s a beauty Tony, absolutely stunning. I’d add that to my collection any day, only it’d be 8 months older than me. This is mine, also a ‘68 but from January, so close on a year older than its current owner.

Not a 6106-8060 but a 6105-8060 from '68. I don't normally buy gold finished watches but at £60 it was a no brainer. The movement alone was worth it. As with you guys watches they have lovely linen dials.

So I think we agree they ‘68 was a great year, at least in Feb, June and December? 6106-8060 from June’68 which is not as nice as yours Tony, and that bracelet you have is amazing!

Aloha Sir, Tony, That is a very fine looking watch you have there. Tony, I still have this one for ages but need to .... Identify the Proper Case for it yet then to find it. It works great and has a quite new movement for it too. Aloha Louis

Edit: just noticed the hour batons are different but that just means a very tiny difference, got to be almost the same model, or the same but different year?
