Happy Australia Day to our members down under! Nothing Aussie about this one, but having shagged up a -1990 the other day I thought I’d strap on another of my 6602’s. No chance of buggering up the bezel and caseback on this one, at least not without a bloody big hammer!

Happy Australia Day boys and girls! (Do we have any ladies on here at the moment?) Wish I had an Aussie Pogue to share but like Nick I am wearing something with no connection. It’s not even Japanese...

My searches have been restricted to UK only for some months now. Interesting. I'm considering taking UK out of my searches. Sudden hefty customs(-like) charges popping up. I thought there weren't supposed to be customs duties in the EU under the Brexit deal. I have the impression the Ebay global shipping program is doing this. Too bad.

Only consolation is that there seems to be a disproportionate number of UK sellers selling fake/AM stuff while claiming to be authentic, and at high prices to boot.

But obviously it depends. Last week I got a package with some tools from the UK. It had a correct customs declaration (70£) attached to it and I was expecting to have to pay around 15€ VAT on top of it, but no. It was handed over like in the good old times when we were one happy family.

The postman might have dropped one of those through my door this morning Very nice. Yes, indeed. This is the one that was filled with oil - it left drops on the table after opening it. Nevertheless it did not move - even after removing balance and pallet fork . After a good clean at the weekend it now runs with good amplitude (~300), it winds and it stops when the crown gets pulled - but depending on the position it is somewhere between -200s/d and +300s/d. To be honest - it runs like shit. ...but it runs. My guess is most of the pivots are badly worn, but I don't have a proper microscope (yet) to investigate. The best is probably the brand new crystal, but I like it nevertheless. I'll leave it for now. Maybe someday I will find another one with a dead dial that is gold plated and does not cost a fortune to make this one better...
