...tiny speck of dirt inside which has been bothering me awhile. Pop the back, stem out, movement out, clean the dial and back together. Right? Well here is what happened and what I found: When putting it back together, date didn't change. So had to take it in pieces.... One thing I'm still trying to get my head around: Why that case is so over engineered (movement sits in a separate frame inside the main frame)? One thing I was reminded of: You can never tell anything from the outside. This watch was one of my prettiest, cleanest and shiniest. Inside: 40 years worth of gunk. Moral of the story: Leave that speck alone!

Geez...
Assembled this for two days and just about to finish when the date jumper spring shoots of and disappears.
Lesson learned: roll away the carpet, don't work with your woolly jumper on.
Donator movement ordered. Until then...

Vacuum with tights inside nozzle...its found one or two lost pieces for me.
