Anyone here watch the walk in pawn shop TV progs.
One last night a woman walked in with 2 Rolex watches (Daytona and a gold ladies something with diamonds around the bezel) and a full gold hunter. The Daytona came from a car boot for a £5. The others she had been left by an uncle.
The op had some difficulty confirming the Daytona even though it had the glass etching. He eventually termed it fake because of the dial text. I thought the case back had to come off but he did not do that.
The ladies gold whatever was also a fake BUT with solid gold case and bracelet. He subsequently smashed, on camera, the watch glass oinked out the movement and weighed the gold bits left at £2500.
The hunter he wanted himself for his collection and gave her £2500 for it.
Very odd indeed.

I have a friend who is a Rolex nut. He worked for Rolex. I had a fake given to me by a friend as a joke. It was amazing quality. Better than most of this battery powered microbrand crap you see. The crystal was etched and was sapphire. The bracelet was correct to the point you could use the links in the original. The movement was a ETA so not shabby. It was actually a really nicely made watch. I gave it to my friend as I didn't want it. The Rolex nut. He said it wasn't until he got the back off that he knew what he had in his hands. It even weighed the same! He was very impressed and considering his history... This is why I won't buy Rolex's. Everyone has one down the local high street and you can bet 1% are the real deal.

I forgot to add the guy did weigh the watch and it was 4 grams light. He virtually immediately confirmed fake from that BUT he did say the finish on the bracelet was to Rolex spec, nicely rounded parts.
