Came across this information while browsing the web. You can get them from spring bars D'oh! No idea why I hadn't thought that before. Just pull the ends off with pliers, take the spring from inside and cut it to size with scissors (spring is thin enough for scissors, but don't use your best ones). Especially good are those spring bars between 8mm-16mm which you never use for anything else! Already used this for one watch and works like a charm.

Thanks for sharing. The 1.2mm diameter springs also yield a good substitute for the bezel click on 7458, 6309 and 7002 bezel click springs. While at it, the ball on the standard ball point pen (1mm) will substitute the click ball on the same divers. Lube the ball and you're good to go.

I have a feeling ouroboros might have black and blue stained fingers I have never extracted the ball from an ink cartridge, that must be exciting! A great idea though, along with the diver click spring too!

inboost , no way. Learnt the pain of ballpoint ink back in school, one wrong move and you ain't shifting it. Once I liberate the metal part from the ink tube, it's a tools job from thence. Pliers make a good tool to gently squeeze the ball out. Only had to do this twice and then figured out I could get these balls as a set of 10 from fleaBay for £1.25 delivered. They are that cheap if you get them from the bearings listing section otherwise £10 a pop if you insist that it needs to be one annointed by Seiko

I've also used springbar springs as a substitute stem spring for a 6309/7548 stem and crown assembly. They're very useful.
