Hi everyone!
Came across this forum after being recommended by someone on r/watches to check it out. My father-in-law passed away a few years ago and my MIL gave me a box of his watches. Didn't see too much in there that interested me, but I did see a Seiko so I grabbed that. Turns out my MIL said he bought it in the 70's and the back is labeled as a 6139. Surprisingly the watch is still ticking!
As I'm new to this forum, I thought I'd intro myself here and inquire about where best to post photos of this watch so people could maybe give me some great information on the watch. I.e., history, current value, recommendations if it should be restored/repaired, etc. It's a great looking watch and I'm happy to have it and wear it on occasion and as a family heirloom so any information would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks again everyone!

Also, FWIW - I go through the additional hassle of sending my watches to Canada (from the USA) - so Ashton Tracey (@ashtonhorologist on this forum) can service them. Advantage to you on that one - no customs to deal with! If you value your 6139 and want to keep it as a heirloom, you should consider servicing it. Its not cheap, but IMO worth it. Ashton has serviced many of my vintage Seikos. There may be other members here that offer similar services! One of Ashton's sites he www.theseikologist.com/
