Hi all
A quick Modding based question I hope
When I first got into watch repairs I for some reason settled on the Seiko 7009A movement to teach myself on, so bought quite a few, both complete watches plus movements. Now that I have progressed with my learning I have found I was able to repair quite a few of them and now I have quite a few of the movements working but with no case for them. Obviously there are loads of second hand cases on the likes of ebay but they are all of a similar design and style to the complete watchs I also have so thought maybe going down the Modding route might be a better option, thinking maybe a Divers style of which the are loads of options available but none mention they are compatible with the 7009A movement.
They list things like NH35 or NH36 and SKX007 or SKX009
Anyone know if the 7009 would fit the cases listed above, or does anyone know of a supplier of cases designed for the 7009.
Thanks in advance for any help with this.
Paul

I may not really answer your question but I hope it can help a little. I have modded a 7009 in a military style using an SNK80* : so what I'm sure of : - the dial from my SNK 7S26 (and thus the ones aimed to NH35/36 I guess) are compatible with 7009 mouvement -i can't remember whether there was a dial ring though, you just have to pay attention to the calendar position in regards to the crown position - same for the hands. the second hand was a little loose but probably from my previous dismantling What I don't know : - Is the stem the same as 7S26 family? you may need a stem extender and use your original 7009 stem - you also may need a movement ring to fit into the case. - is there enough space below the Crystal experts here will tell you more and better than me. personally, I would not bother too much about recycling 7009 movement. the whole set of modding parts can be a little expensive at the end. is it worth an old 7009? anyway, good luck in your projet.
