For those who care and those who just want to point and laugh it looks like the two cOmPLeAtLY UnReLaTeD companies of Swatch and Omega are going to do a collaboration. One would expect by their Instagram post it will be speedmaster related.

As a fan of both Omega and Swatch (at least old-school Swatch) - I am not above pointing and laughing, and god knows they both make a lot of odd watches. I don't understand the ASS-tronaut 50th anniversary speedy or the NASA Swatches, but to be fair, I have not seen either in person. Is that a giant foot print on the moon in that screenshot? Middle, right hand side. The only certainty is that it will be a "limited" edition.

Keep in mind, Swatch have done an automatic chronograph before….

Is that an Irony? I have a friend who has several Sistem 51's and loves them. Also, Omega made this:

That is very Swatch… I don’t know if it’s an Irony, I can’t recall seeing it written anywhere on the case or dial. It was a run of 6 or so variants released in 2008 and the watches were called “Right Track Sunrise” or Sunset etc.
The features the newly released budget chrono the C01.211 movement
You can occasionally find one $200-300 AUD I was luck to get this beauty for $60

I'm not sure if I like all the Swatch Speedmasters or not... #Moonswatches

In case you missed it - this dropped last night (I think) - a few days before it was supposed to: www.hodinkee.com/articles/were-ready-to-talk-about-the-omega-x-swatch-moonswatchEDIT: Basically if you love the Speedmaster design, but cannot justify the expense - you can get a swatch version with co-branding for $260, in 11 different colors. There is no word on whether they are "limited", all indications are no, they aren't. Apparently you need to live somewhere with a Swatch boutique and can buy a max of two of them in person. For me, I could be tempted if I could buy the whole set NIB, otherwise I don't think this is for me.

I like those.
I wonder how "plasticy" the case feels since they claim it is 2/3 ceramic?

I am also curious to see someone compare "bioceramic" to standard Swatch "plastic", in terms of weight, scratch and ding durability... Been googling around and haven't found anything that is not just marketing blather rehashed.

Yep. It’s real and has been replicated across the world. I called a shop nearby a swatch store in Sydney to see how nuts it was. Said it was sold out in under an hour with a massive line still there.

One of my goals has always been to end up with more money than good sense... Still an aspiration - but quite challenging when you start off with a lot of good sense out of the gates This can't really sell like this: www.ebay.com/itm/275234711060

This is beyond belief and disappointing that someone is willingly being so badly taken advantage of. It's a time old tale though, that there is always someone with more money than sense to continue to contribute to the madness. I'll make up the story that the seller will use the profits for good so I'm less disturbed about it all.

I suspect that most of the inflated auction prices are just two or three watch guys bidding up and not paying so as to ruin the scalper's auction.

It's tough to understand why anyone would overpay when these aren't limited. The initial supply may have run out, but there will be more, right?
I'm thinking that the Mission to Uranus might not be the best selling model in the collection - I know they were trying to include all the planets, but that's an unfortunate name.

The initial eBay pricing is beyond ridiculous, if any of those sales are legit, there will most certainly be some buyers remorse in the near future.

At the MSRP under $300 it's a great value, as long as you are a liker and not a hater.
I'd consider one for sure.

That ebay listing got fixed. It had bidding up to $81k USD, looks like those got removed. Still going to stupid money considering you should be able to order them online any day now.
I agree, I like them, and I don't think they take anything away from the real moon watch, which I also own. I am hoping at some point they sell them as a full set.
