Hi all. I'm a Seiko addict and have collected watches on and off for about 20 years. I recently got into servicing and restoration and I enjoy taking non-runners and bringing them back to life. I do some watch flipping but I only do it with watches I like so it makes it hard to let them go! I have too many project watches now and I need to stop buying watches (I couldn't resist and just bought a Lord Marvel on Japan Mercari tonight) and get to work fixing the project watches and putting them in my collection or selling them. It is very fun and rewarding to do this but my backlog is too large.
I have always loved watches, mechanical, electronic, or quartz. I bought my first Seiko when I was in high school. I didn't appreciate mechanical watches until I got into my 30s and owned no automatic watches until that point. I have about 30 Seikos and 2 Orients, mostly automatics. I have a couple of Citizen EcoDrives. I have 5 Omegas, 2 of which were bought brand new more than 20 years ago. One of those is a quartz, another is a hummer, and the others are autos. I really love Omegas but Seikos were my first love and I just always fall back to them whenever I stray. I want to buy an nice Orient diver with a red dial and sapphire crystal but I need to sell some watches first! I would be more comfortable with about 20 watches in my collection and that way I wouldn't feel like a hoarder. Maybe the wife will not roll her eyes so much either.
Ok that's me in a nutshell. Thanks for accepting me into the group.

Welcome to the Sushi bar Saldog! Don’t be shy, show us what you’ve got! 30 Seiko watches isn’t hoarding by the way, it’s just the start of a decent collection…
Welcome to the forum! That sounds like a great collection and you're with like minded collectors. I too love all types and didn't own a mechanical wristwatch until just last year - it was my first tinkering job. I'm also pretty taken with vintage LCD and Quartz watches as well as I work in electronics and enjoy admiring the evolution of the technologies. I'm on the hunt for just the right LED watch for my next time piece. I have a long list of mechanical and quartz pieces I dream of though. We've got time, right?
Looking forward to seeing you around - be sure to show off some of your collection on our what are you wearing threads!
Thanks InBoost! I don't have an LED either and I have always wanted one. Ever since I saw Bill Bixby in "The Magician" use one, I thought it was the coolest. I have a couple of vintage LCDs. One of them was my Dad's and he never wore it, so I guess it's new old stock. The pulse checker still works, but it's a little buggy. From what I understand, they were always a bit buggy.
My other digital is a DigiBorg. It has a bad LCD panel and I have a NOS one coming that I found on eBay. I hope it fixes the problem. Which LED are you looking at? I think Pulsar is the one to get if you can find one that still works.
Neat stuff, and watches handed down from family are the best in my opinion. You get to know all the backstory with them. Imagine all the stories a watch could tell?
There is an LED out in the UK that just became mine
It's based on a Hughes 29mm module and has a subtly unique case design. I'll be sure to show it off when it arrives
