Just for the record.
Do not try to rinse the rotor/coil assembly on this movement in any solvent.
It will dissolve the white material in it instantly (behaves like rodico under any solvent) and render the rotor useless.

Indeed I wanted to post it here just in case someone stumbles across this during a service. Afterwards I read this (also for the record). timeguy.com/cradek/01610488741He also does coil re-wiring for the rotor (amazing stuff!). It reveled to me that the rotor magnet is indeed cased separately within that white stuff, as first I was quite puzzled how the whole assembly was put together in the first place. Still an interesting execution. Lesson learned to be careful with unknown materials in the future, and luckily it was a bad movement to start with (battery leak damage). I'm also bidding on a good condition spare movement atm. Same caliber was also used in Revue watches (maybe Edox as well, but I have not managed to confirm this). Internet search result only reveal JLC and Favre Leuba using 353 version. I hope this helps some with the hunt and tracking the history of this important quartz movement. EDIT: It would be nice to have more practice with early swiss quartz movements as they are different to early Japanese pieces, but even the bad ones are bit too pricey to practice with.

Yes, what I understand, it is the first quartz to use the now standard 32kHz frequency and first Swiss quartz in production (Seiko was first, but didn't use the 32kHz frequency). It has teflon "jewels". The 350-354 are the same caliber, but with some minor changes. It feels like they were in a hurry to put this together (to be the first consumer Swiss watch with a quartz movement). Especially the crystal casing on the first rendition is very flimsy (which they improved with 352-354). Also the finishing (especially on the 350) on the circuit is visibly crude. Theory is that GP developed this together with JLC and Favre Leuba (maybe also Revue). All the examples of JLC and FL I have come across use the 353 version, which could indicate that they wanted first see a breakthrough before applying it to their watches (no source on this, but just assuming here).

That dial on that link is just amazing - reminds me a lot of the Bulova Accutron 'Spaceview' watches.
trilo - it seems there is hope in replacing teflon with proper jewels per the article?

Yes, that would be a possibilty.
I would need a new coil/rotor assembly tho and a circuit. The motor was working before I messed it up.
I think the original fault was the circuit board. Motor would step back and forth when touching the leads (which I guess would mean that the currenct flowed through), so my guess is that the crystal didn't vibrate or the chip was busted. The movement had medium battery leak damage.
Saddly I had to pass with the donor I was bidding on. I had one rival and in the end someone else won it.

A little update on this.
I just bought a BIN replace movement for a very decent price at 56€.
I hope I'll get the watch running with it. Atleast I'm able to put an intact rotor/coil in it.
EDIT: and apparently GP sold the rights/license to Revue, who then used it in their watches.
