Hey, remember this guy, the one who sells this fake: well, he was selling some genuine stuff too. I won what looked like a great project on eBay for a great price - $117. Looked to be a solid original 6309 that with some work could be a great daily. I won the auction, and then asked about why shipping was $18 to go from San Jose, CA to Colorado. I was basically told to STFU and pay. OK, so I paid up. And waited for updated shipping information. And waited. And waited. Finally, many days later, I write and ask about when my watch would be going into the mail, and I get this message back: "sorry to let you know that watch some how get lost before we ship it. I will send you a full refund. sorry again for is happened.". Now, he's got other negative feedbacks that say he's done the same thing - claimed to have "lost" the item. So either he's incompetent or he's lying. So I tell him I don't believe him, and that I want my watch in the mail that day. He then offers me another replacement watch he has up on eBay at the same price that's in much crappier condition, saying it's more expensive ($399) but he'll take the loss since he feels so bad. But here's the fun part. He started the auction for the replacement watch AFTER I told him I didn't believe him. The guy was trying to do a bait-and-switch on me for a crappier watch. Generally he seems like a sleezebag - he has a ton of questionable Seikos for really high prices - in the just the past couple of days he's bumped all of his new auctions to BIN at about double the value of the piece, easily. Anyway, here's the watch I won. 6309-7049, SN. 481784. If you see it, hear of it, let me know.

How the heck can you lose more than one watch? REALLY?
Anyone else here ever lost a watch that you had up for sale? Hard to believe at best.
Hope you got your money back at least.
Oh . . . . BTW . . . . has anyone seen that 7002-7009 that needs to move along . . . . laughing1.gif

I hate sellers like that, makes you wonder if they got a higher offer after the sale.

I consider anything bought on ebay a "crap shoot" so never bid/buy more than I'm prepared to lose. So far, so good though. Good that you got refunded.
And those sellers that can't deliver a solar watch charged or a watch properly packed I can see their easily losing a watch before delivery.

I hate sellers like that, makes you wonder if they got a higher offer after the sale. He barely spoke English. I personally think he's a dishonest seller who likes to avoid buyers who might give trouble. I'd already pinned him down on his BS regarding shipping prices, eBay / Paypal policies, and shipping time. He probably just thought it'd be easier to duck me. At least I got my money back. At first he was like "I don't know if I can refund you - you might have to open a case". Which is laughable bullshit. So I walked him through step-by-step how to refund the purchase. He did so.

I wouldn't have been refunded for three to four weeks.

Oh sure, I would have gotten it back one way or the other. It's just annoying. I'm far from the only person he's done this kind of thing to, and he's also selling blatant fakes, so it'll catch up to him sooner or later.

All the fake / counterfeit reporting in the world didn't seem to do anything to our old friend Time_Classics / Timely_Classics / Firefly etc. He's still slingin' 'em out as fast as Jose can make them. Very sad... I guess all that really matters is how his customers feel. As long as he's generating revenue for eBay, and getting good feedback (or buying off the pissed-off customers), they couldn't care less about where his stuff comes from. It'd probably be different if he were selling faked Rolexes and getting real money though. Anyway, it's probably lucky for me that this fell through. It was a gamble anyway, and I didn't lose any money. Because I got the refund when I did, I had some extra cash in the watch fund and was able to pick up something pretty awesome for truly cheap.

Looking forward to seeing what you acquired. Spot the treasure! Couldn't tell ya, I can't see it very well on my laptop screen. Not like that matters, nothing looks familiar to me.

Top left - a Seiko 6601-799x Silverwave 30m diver from the mid-60s. Missing the rotating ring, handset, crystal, & bezel. But a good project at a great price. I'll flip the rest of the lot and see if I can't make some money on this deal.

Seller says "Missisippi All-Stars 1965". I suspect that she can't find the actual brand on it.
