Was the crown pushed right in during this test? Was the sweep hand also losing time against your mobile phone stopwatch?
If the CP was too tight and the crown was in the time setting position it would cause additional drag on the movement (as it will also be turning the clutch wheel/stem/crown) which could stop it completely or make it run slow.
The other possible reason is that you inadvertently made the CP even slacker.
I'd say that if the CP was indeed too tight and the crown was pushed right in, then the problem is elsewhere.
And to add, if the CP was very tight it would make time setting almost impossible to the point where something might break. Is time setting easy or hard?

Well 18 hours after resetting and leaving it dial up I'm off just 37 seconds (slow). The Crown was in while on the wrist and the bench. Hand move free, so I don't think it's too tight, might have another go at pinching it a bit more, just hard to tell when it'll be too much. I'm keeping track of the time, hacking it to the time.is website.

I recently bought a Steeldive SD1977T. I had been hemming and hawing over various Doxa Sub 300 "homage" (let's agree they are copies to varying degrees). I just couldn't pull the trigger. Not because of any "oh it's not the real thing-itis". I don't have any respect for the current Doxa IP owners and I think their watches are massively overpriced. Just that none of them (Seestern, Pagani, Tactical Frog) have really pulled it all together in a way that motivates me to spend the money. Although the Seestern 600T is growing on me. /quote] Gee whiz, I'm sorry I lost your respect given what I posted on the WRUW thread for today, July 18

Your watch is lovely and I would love to have one. What I meant is that I do not have respect for the ownership of the IP to the point that I have no qualms about purchasing a blatant copy...so long as it didn't actually say Doxa on it.

Nah, I'm just pullin' yer chain big guy. I kinda figured where your derision was focused. Before I bought my Doxa I was vaguely aware of the brand's chequered past which isn't all that unusual when the quartz crisis struck. Many brands including Doxa have been resurrected with the help of Chinese manufacturing and clever marketing. With respect to the latter, Doxa drew some ire by touting their watches as Swiss made which revealed how seemingly porous Swiss content rules are. Upon reflection, I bought into the brand name before brands such as Steeldive, Seestern and Tactical Frog surfaced and frankly, you could do well going with these alternatives if the aesthetic is what floats yer boat! Cheers

still need to try and snug the cp a bit more. I am amazed at how well it keeps time dial up on my desk It's fast by about 7 seconds over the last 26 hours! Might just keep it as a clock!

Okay think I have tried this now for the fourth time. Truly didn't want to over do it even with one of my screwdrivers inside so not to kink...I thought I had it, until i noticed it has now lost 5 minutes in the first hour on the wrist maybe too much! Maybe a it of oil? I laid it on the table and reset the hands, now Its fast 5 minutes in 30... where it was keeping fantastic time dial up!!!! Might need to source a donor movement if I can't find just a CP...
