Hi I was flicking through my photobucket account and found an old photo I took of two Seiko watches that I bought on ebay, they were listed with a Buy it now price of £150 and I'm still shocked some 3 years later that I was first to hit the button, The two watches in question, A 6105-8110 and a 6138-3002 were listed as "two black seikos" and for one of them this was very true as it had been painted all over with thick black emulsion !! I'd love to hear other peoples good luck stories, Watches before cleaning, And after, seikola

There have been a few that I got for lunch money.............. #1. Seiko 6309-7040 for $50.00 from my pawn shop friend in Hawaii. All original with hardly a single mark anywhere on it and with barely any marks on the insert. (actually one of the best inserts I have ever seen) #2. Seiko Pogue in near perfect shape and original for only $50.00 I also bought an Arnie from Craigslist for $80.00 that had a couple of minor water (?) spots on 2 of the indices but other then that it was in PRIMO shape! The original plastic shroud was almost perfect with only one VERY minor mark on it!

Blimey!! you should do the lottery with that sort of luck, I'd love to add an Arnie to my collection but the prices are just too high these days, wook

This is another one you dont see too often and I took a gamble on it! A seller in Los Angeles had this on Craigslist (take in mind I live in San Diego so it was Wayyyyyyyyyy too far to travel) He was for the longest time asking over $100.00 for it but didnt take Paypal so I had to pass. A couple of months later I see it re-listed again for $50.00 I called the seller on the phone and told him I would take it IF he would accept a USPS money order which I would send the next day! He said yes he would do so for me! A week later it arrived safe and sound and better then described! thunbsup.gif I could easily have lost my $50.00 but fortunately they were honest people. Hard to tell from this Pic but it has one of Seiko's beautiful shimmery Blue dials.

My best deals did not come from eBay, but from private sellers.

Honestly, this might be close, and I just got it. $322 in a watch lot, and I haven't sold off the rest of the other watches yet, so the final price will be lower. Nowhere near your amazing bargain though: However, the best single bargain I may have ever gotten was when I traded my new orange Sumo straight across for an Omega Speedy Pro with box / papers / tags. Straight trade.

I have gotten a lot of great deals, but this has to be my favorite. It's a 6139-6000, and dates to June, 1969. It cost me $51, and came from Ebay. I still to this day don't know how it slipped through the cracks. When I won it, I had completely forgotten I had even put in a bid since I never put it on my Watch List as I usually do. Even at the time, $51 was an amazing deal just for the watch itself. However, the original box and papers were not mentioned in the auction and came to me as a very pleasant surprise!

Wow what a cracking find at any price, I have a identical one from 69 that I thought looked pretty nice, I'd now describe it as "Scruffy" having seen yours wook

I have a large number of this era of men's dress watches that I don't know what to do with.

Hi Mine has the case where there is no gap between the lug cut out and the crystal ring, I think the 3002,3005,3009 are all like mine and I would assume yours would be 6138-3000 with the extra brushed bit, I seem to remember they take different crystals, it's the bonded ring that differs slightly rather than the glass itself, please excuse the crap picture, it's night here wook
