When you buy a watch because its an Icon and a must have for your collection but then you end up seldomly wearing it and think about selling it? Such is the case with this one! I bought this one totally un-molested from my pawn shop friend in Hawaii for $50.00 and had to end up having it serviced locally by my watch maker at the cost of $100.00 so I'm into it for $150.00 The watch is ALL original, retains all the lines, (NO dings/dents) crown screws down perfectly with 3 1/2 turns etc! As you can see by the insert it is almost flawless and everything else is near perfect for a used Vintage 6309-7049 It also has the SUWA symbol on the dial! Serial # dates it to April 1981 I pull this one out from time to time and think to myself that I'll sell it but cannot force myself to do so no matter how much I need the money because I know I will NEVER find another in such good condition for such a low price! (believe me tho....right now I can really use the money) This is NOT a prelude for a possible sale but rather a musing on my part this morning!

That's a tough one . . .
I've never had the issue as I have such a small collection and I've been lucky that all the ones I've wanted have turned out to be great once I got my mitts on them.
I'd probably keep that beauty . . . . it's just too nice!

Rene, you'd be a fool to sell it, some things just shouldn't be sold...BUT, should you decide to give it a new home, hit me up. laugh1.gif

Here is what I think is a much better pic I took this morning that shows the true beauty of the watch..................... The strap I love as it was gifted to me and are the colors of the Royal Marines UK

I've bought and sold so many, money to buy more watches which themselves were sold to buy more watches, round and round and round.
I don't remember the money, but do remember the watches.
...
But then, half (or more) of the joy of collecting watches is the hunt, bringing in new watches. It's nice to get new watches in, see if you bond, and if not, spin 'em off and maybe make a little more on the upswing. And then use that money to bring in more watches! Round and round.

I'm sure you have other 6309s. Why not sell those off and wear this one exclusively?

To be honest, if it doesn't get wrist time, and you don't see it getting any...sell it. No need to hold onto something, because it is desirable to others. You're like me, you're not a "collector"...If it's not getting worn, you start questioning why you have it.

Tough choice.
If you don't wear a watch sell it because it just sits there.
However I usually end up selling the watches I wear the most because they hog all the wrist time.
I wish I would have never sold my old school first Scuba Pro repro dial 1 of 4 dials made by Ramon Thewatchscollector only 2 sold to the public by OG Shawn Taylor bead blasted 6309 but I wore the crap out of it along with my Seiko 5 Flieger with SKX007 dial and hands but foolishly sold both because they hogged all the wrist time.
I kinda miss my orange Sumo but only had it a month or 2 so not enough time to bond and miss it.
I also kinda miss my Sinn 656 but that damn crown dug into my wrist so I got this one to fill the void.
I also miss my 6117 GMT (worlds first often imitated in the internet age) pictured with the first 6309 GMT. Where's my royalties damnit.
