Great look, unbelievable Resto. I like watches in the 36 mm range, I have a nice Montblanc 38 mm Chrono (Valjoux 7750 re-branded as 4810-501)
Can someone explain the 0-100 markets on the chapter ring?

It's for metric time laugh1.gif Actually, it is probably for timing 10s or 100s of a second with the chrono hand...or maybe it really is metric time.

The color of the sweep second hand looks to be mixed. Sometimes it is almost as if it starts out dark at the center of the dial and becomes lighter until it gets to a red/orange tip. Does it look like that for real or is it a lighting/photograph issue. The whole look of the watch is really cool. The sweep is chrome except for the tip which is red. It's not an easy watch to photograph actually.

I found out the 0-100 chapter ring scale is for aviators, which makes sense as quite a few Breitlings have this feature. So I guess this beauty is for pilots.
Apparently in helps in filling out their flight logs. I'm not a pilot so I really can't say why it helps out, but if Breitling uses it, you know it does !

Hard to fall on love with something that's rare, and difficult to get serviced. Great looking watches for sure, I'm sure they'd get more love if they were readily available.

Compared to a 6139 they're slightly more of a PITA to put together but that's it. I think the hardest parts to find are the seals (though I could be wrong). In some ways I prefer them to the 613x chronos - for one, the sweep hand is pre-aligned so you can just pop it into place. Much smarter design.

My 7015s seemed simple enough to work on, although I realize they don't have a minute register to deal with. Each of mine was less than $30 listed as non-running. The 1st was easy to get going, but the dial wasn't good enough for me so I missed it (saved the original, don't worry). I loved that one enough to track down another with a good dial. I like the original, but the mod was very fun and unexpected. A 7s 3oclock dial fits. The pins aren't long enough to lock but theyre enough to hold it in place.

that is extremely good to know!
Do all the 7S / 7xxx pins have the same alignment? Does that extend to their 4R and 6R descendants?

Yes, the 7015 is still part of the 70xx line so it shares the pin alignment. That evolved into the 7s and now the 4r. Any of the dials for these movements with a crown @3 will fit the 7015. I had speculated this prior to performing the mod, and was quite happy to be confirmed when I got into it.

That is really a great catch of a rare as hen’s teeth piece, spencer!
I like the calibre 70 chronographs a lot, even though I am still a little afraid when working on them. However, the slim movement design allows for case heights lower than many a standard three hand.
The particular model you picked up is IMO especially nice, even more so if you (like me ) like smaller pieces.
Great resto work too, enjoy it and wear it in good health!
Oh, and in case you consider selling it – would you mind giving me a heads up? My 7018-700 currently feels a little lonely ;-)
Best, Hermann
