I've had this Accutron for a few years, but I've never worn it on the bracelet because the end links were bent and very floppy. It's always been in the back of my mind to see if I could sort them out and a battery change motivated me yesterday. Some fettling of the end links and the stretched final (small) link got them in much better shape. Still rattly, but very serviceable. Not many made it this far with the original bracelet intact.

This SKX009K will stay on my wrist a day or two before eventually ending in the classifieds section. Still not sure if I shall keep it or not.

Not a huge fan of the date lense but this round one works unlike the day-date ones.

You're right, it's precisely because I already have the "J" versions that I'm wondering whether I shouldn't give this one away, or keep it to have J and K versions...

This is an odd duck of a watch for sure. The Citizen 4-851960 is a quartz 8550A movement from what I believe is June of 1977 (certainly no earlier, but has bit of a 1980s vibe to it). It's got a snap back case , but this is only for tuning or battery exchange. The movement comes out the front! To add even more absurdity, the bezel is two piece and factory glued together. I mistakenly separated the two halves thinking it was necessary to fit the crystal which does press into the lower half of the bezel. A Sternkruez MF275 was purchased to refresh the crystal with, and it's incorporated gasket was not compatible with the upper bezel so I trimmed it. As you might imagine that was a tough and resulted in not the greatest outcome. I will be on the lookout for an original 54-51930 + 393-4261 packing ring.
Even more unfortunate is that this watch has a piano black high gloss dial that had oil spatter on it. I attempted cleaning in more and more aggressive ways. The spots are diminished but the dial has some glazing / haziness to it now for all the scrubbing. Not noticeable unless you are very much looking for it.

I never sell at a high price, but if price offers are too low, I prefer to give the watch to a relative of mine, friend or family.

Wow!! What a stunning piece. Citizen 85xx series has some really beautiful examples! The movement is also super nice and on top of all that, it's an unisex movement! The biggest complaint on this one is the battery strap, which quite often breaks the circuit.

It's got negative (button top) facing up and the tab that makes contact to it is bolted to the positive frame (a dead short) with a tiny little nylon spacer for isolation.

Sometimes those spacers go missing and people abandon these because they don't start running without the spacer. Also quite often one can see that the tab hasn't been removed properly/completely, which causes the small finger on the tab to shear the circuit lead next to it, when turned aside for a new battery. Yours looks great!
