twhp101 , yeah I'm a bit scared of it. However I have the service book and the tools. I just have to put on my big boy pants and do it. I have a Citizen Hisonic and a Universal Geneve Unisonic (both derivatives of the 214/218 Accutrons) that will need my attention as well. I'm thinking of starting with the Citizen as I think sourcing parts for that one should I slip and mangle a pawl will be easier to come by. That's really neat the site owner was so helpful. I ought to send him a question I had about mine with it's inked case code. Oh, that second webspage is very good too! I should have put that up for TinkeringFR as well

inboost and twhp101 , this second link speaks to me, I've already come across it, that too was a long time ago. But the first one seems new to me . I think that when you start looking for information on these accutron, you always end up in the same places. I'll have a closer look at them later. I still didn't finish the reading of inboost 's 7548-7010. I've been so busy over the last two months that my reading has fallen behind quite a bit. Fortunately it's winter break, so I've managed to catch up on everything I've left on hold, and not just on watchmaking. But on monday is back to work

I just want to go on record as saying I was totally happy not knowing about Spaceview watches. Now I have to find one. Thank you very much.

I should have put that up for TinkeringFR as well We actually sweat most of the time in here, because the sun warms so much! About Accutrons; I have never personally taken one part, but my friend who is an avid Omega collector took one apart, cleaned it and put back together, and it was his first service EVER. Before that he had only changed batteries. He asked for some general directions from me and when I watched one youtube tutorial to get an idea about the movement, I was impressed how the tuning fork section with is a separate unit to the rest of watch (all delicate parts can be removed on one go IIRC). Long story short, he got it all back together and it started running, but it ran too fast (apparently it's skipping teeth).
