Well, someone paid $142.40 for that turd. Even with it being AM parts and such I think $142.40 was a good price! The case, movement (assuming its in good working condition) and bezel are worth that much IMO You can always buy a nicer looking AM dial and insert from the Net and it would be a nice watch to wear!

I disagree...I've bought a few of my all originals for less, or slightly more. Too much for that turd, but that's just me.

I guess there are a few factors there to consider...... I have seen MANY 6309s (most in fact) that are for sale on the Forums that are original but beat to shit selling from around $275.00 and up-wards. At $142.00 I still dont think thats an unfair price because you can always (eventually) find a newer original dial and insert and end up perhaps in the $300.00 range but when you are done you will have a nice piece! I know.......maybe kinda weird reasoning!?

Unless you're doing the work yourself, you'd end up with far more than that into it. To each their own, but I'd never consider buying that watch for that price.

The 6309 that I like the most is all original and I paid $150.00 for it...about 6 years ago. With today's inflated prices on these watches that same watch should bring between $350-$400. It is a shame that this turd brought that much. I can only hope that whoever bought it realizes what they have is not original.

Yep....... $350.00 - $400.00 is about what a REALLY nice original one sells for these days! I perhaps should never have sold mine but it got little wear so now someone who appreciates it more will get use out of it! I wish the 6105-8110s had a 6309-7040 dial as I like them much better! IF I had the nerve and if my 6105 didnt have such great provenance as mine has I would buy a NOS (providing I could find one) 6309-7040 dial and transplant it into the 6105

The trouble with this particular piece of crap is that it will definitely have to be serviced and may need some new parts. Then there will be the cost of new dials, hands, etc. whether they be EOM or AM/mod parts. $142 was way too much for that. pieces like this are parts watches and even Ramon doesn't get that kind of money!

Instances like this, are exactly why I started THIS thread.

This one for $50.00 but it didnt come from the Bay............. IF your looking on the BAY you have to be at the right spot at the right time and need LOTS of patience because good examples for under $200.00 dont happen all that often!

Rene, the three I just posted, were all found on the bay within the past year. The auctions went the distance, and I was the high bidder. I don't browse it all that often, there are lots of them out there.
