I've been looking to acquire for one of these, for quite some time. Not sure why, perhaps it just so ugly, it's awesome . Well, one popped up on the bay today, but the seller is less than desirable (8868hwh). Gonna have to keep looking..... :-/

I think it's cool looking....in a "funky" sort of way.

One of those was the first World Traveller, wasn't it? I mean, I had that watch here, held it and wore it. Not impressed honestly.

It's not a bad watch at all... This one was a gift and it is/was brand new. I don't wear it much but it does hold a special place in my collection as it represents the generosity of so many WIS

So, are those both Sea Kings rather than King Divers?

So, are those both Sea Kings rather than King Divers? Not sure but going by the 'SK' script, I'm guessing Sea King. The King diver may have a higher WR rating. Also, the King Diver has that printed on the dial :-)

I have a King Diver from that era and love it. less funky though I am still looking for the right Sea King and it definitely will be one of the funky retro ones, exactly for the same reason you stated

I know, I know! I was actually looking for a funky one and this came up for a great price, so I "had" to buy it.

Now, my question about these. The depth markings? I.E 20m/30m/35m/40m are colour coded. Here's the thing. When you dive, the colour "Red" disappears fast (that's why photos look very blue if taken under water) So, is the colour coded markings a crude depth gauge? Calling Russ, calling Russ...............................

The colours correspond to dive time/depth with no decompression, like the Citizen diver straps. The full answer is here forums.watchuseek.com/f21/function-orient-sk-coloured-bezel-3848.html

These times presume your diving on Air (21% O2) off course, but if you were diving on Nitrox (I tend to dive using Nitrox 32 which is 32% O2) you would have LONGER bottom times so if you stuck to those mentioned in this article you would have a GREATER safety margin. Great post 7s26b, thanks!
