Following on from the YJ aution discussion, I've experienced both ends of the spectrum in the past week. I've been fascinated by the 6M25 calibre ever since I saw the "dancing hands" video a few years ago. I've got a search stored for 6M25 but I've never turned up any examples that either look decent or end at a decent price. Until this week that is, I was just browsing "Seiko chronograph" on ebay and after what seemed a hundred pages a picture popped up that I recognised, it was the same model as used in the video. It looks in remarkable condition from the photos and it was described as fully working. It was actually labelled as a Seiko 170392 which was in reality the serial number. I normally snipe right at the end but as there were no bids on it by Friday and it finished on Sunday I put a bid on to hopefully prevent it being pulled. As it turned out I was the only bidder. Sellers pictures below. For those who haven't seen the video here it is The other end of the spectrum was a NOS S14 crystal remover, it had a few watchers but again I've been after one of these for some time so I put a large snipe in, more than I wanted to pay really, but I badly wanted it. I won it but at only $7.50 below my maximum bid - still I'm happy as you don't see these for sale every day and they are so much more efficient and less damaging than using a claw in my opinion. So at the end of the day I'm very happy with both - especially the dancing hands 6M25!

Love the 6M25 Duncan. I've just bought a similar 8M11 (non chronograph) and it's great fun watching it set itself to the different time zones.

How is that case opener used? It's for monocoque cases, you remove the bezel and clamp the crystal using the correct sized insert. Squeeze the handle and lift the crystal out.

6M25's must be coming "out of the closet".
*Reference to live auction was removed*

Sorry Norm, I typically don't have a problem with it, but it was reported. Not a problem here. But item 7 of the rules might be clearer if instead of "links to live auctions and sales sites are prohibited" it read "any and all references to live auctions and sales sites are prohibited". JMHO.

Always found the 6M25 to be too dressy. I love the 6M23s...

A chap on another forum I frequent got it, he's big into his Seiko's and has a number of GS's and spring drives, but only two quartz's. Well three now! He's going to do a post about it when it arrives which he thinks will be tomorrow.
