OK, so just got back from my Birthday Europe Road with Son number 2. What a great time we had.
But you don't care about that, you want to know about the WATCH!
To be honest, though I was 50 only a week ago, the kids let me have it for 10 days in January for my annual dive trip to Egypt. Bless them! But you don't want to know about that! You want to see the watch!! LOL!!
OK, here it is My kids brought me a Panarai Luminor. OMG!!
Quick shot to wet your appetite, get the joke? Watch, 50? Oh, never mind
On the street, Cairo
Having a beer in my hotel in Cairo
I took this at a few meters while snorkelling. Red Sea Dahab.
And this one, dived it to 59 meters but don't have a camera that will go that deep so did a few in the shallows
with my computer
with some of my kit
Having a Beer between dives Sharm el Sheikh
The loom is INSANE!
Sadly on my return I had to give it back & wait till my Birthday. So now some background. All the kids put money in. Jordan my oldest brought it from one of his Officers who'd spent q year attached to the Comando Subacquei ed Incursori (Italian special forces) he was getting married so sold it to my lad (to hell with that!)
You'll notice it has a leather strap, not the usual dive strap. It came with the dive strap but my youngest brought me the leather one coz she read that "Back in the day" they were all on leather "Ammo" straps. She found this one for me so on it went, been on the sea, mud, river etc & has taken on a kind of rough manly look I really like . Guess I'm a "Back in the day kind of Guy"
So, next instalment. Son number two Joshua grabs me, the watch & his Jeep
and we head to Europe on a road trip.
wont bore you with the detail other then to say one of the best weeks I've ever had.
So, some random pic's
Oh, and did I tell you about the INSANE loom
few final thoughts, This watch does look massive. But, and trust me on this, it wears no bigger then, say, a 6309. I s**t you not. I have worn it every day and it is COMFY!
It doesn't miss a beat & so far is Bang On. I love the sort of well, Agricultural fell of it. No screw down crown? No worries, put a phoook off clamp over it! Need it to be visible on underwater operations in the worst visibility? No drama, make the dial massive!
Guys, I thought I was getting an Seamaster. I was more then happy, I love the seamaster. But this, surprice though it was is the best watch for me & I didn't even know it! As Jordan said "Dad, we looked at the Seamaster the Pierce Bronson one, not really you & we had a bit more money to spend so we looked at A Sub. But, well, sorry Dad, your no Sean Connerary!1 But this, well its just so YOU!!"
And know what? My kid know me better then I know myself. Thanks for reading, sorry for going on but man I'm STOKED! Also, most of the pic's were taken on a cell phone.
Thanks for reading.....................
