I've wanted one of these for a while, and green is the color I needed as I teach at a large university which has green as it's main color. Showed up today, the case is pretty smooth, so I'm guessing overpolished, but I don't know as it's my 1st (how sharp the case lines were originally)

Nice catch! Seriously nice!
its tough to tell from your photo just how over polished the case is, but from what I can see the watch has definitely been polished. The top surface should have a brushed finish and the side case lines should have a polished surface. These are easy cases to straighten out should the lines be skewered.
also, should you decide to go into a restoration with the watch, the replacement inner indicator rings can be purchased on eBay.

Regardless of the polishing issues, which I reckon don't detract from the Sushi anywhere near as drastically as many other Seikos, it's a great score man, and I love the green dial variant . . . enjoy the thing. thunbsup.gif

Thanks guys! I have a WTB out there looking for hands for it, these are 6139 hands I suspect. I'd love to find a resource online to show how to restore the 'milled' finish of vintage Seiko's. I suspect one of those foam brick sanding blocks I see at home centers, with a hole cut out for the open part of the case (crystal area) would do just the trick, but I'm afraid to try.

I think you are correct, this is my reissue but I believe they are the same as your original.

Wow! Yes, it's been polished but the green dialed version us quite tough to find! I've got the blue and the yellow, and would love the green. I'm green with jealousy in fact!
Cheers on a great find!
