Hello all from West Tennessee. Glad I found this forum as I have always had a love for watches. I don't have many "quality" pieces, maybe none by some standards. I purchased a Citizen Aqualand some 20 years ago as a soldier at Fort Hood and still have it and wear it today. I have recently been bitten by the bug to purchase an automatic Seiko or Orient and I fear I won't be able to stop once I am started (although my wife will probably be able to govern that some.) I am a research junkie which is kind of why I'm here. I look forward to meeting everyone and picking your brains.

Welcome! Glad you joined up!
So . . . what are your preferences as far as watches go? Seiko has lots of great automatic dive watches but also some great auto chronos!

1) I fear I won't be able to stop once I am started 2)(although my wife will probably be able to govern that some.) Two comments there: 1) You have no idea ! 2) Don't tell her ! After the first one....er....10, if she's not in to watches, she'll think they all look the same.

Well, I'm not 100% sure what I want. I have always been attracted to larger watches. When I bought my Citizen, it seemed like the largest watch I had seen at that time. I have a Casio Pathfinder that I beat around at work. I'm not sure I want another large watch. The like both the Mako and Ray. I also really like the larger Seiko 5's. I really like some of the Seikos I have seen that are modified to look like a Five Fathoms. I have also always liked some of the quartz Seiko dive watches.

Well, I bought this yesterday. Citizen ca0468-51e. Not automatic, not especially what I was looking for, but price seemed way to good to pass up. I have always kind of harnessed my desire to purchase watches, but I'm afraid I won't be able to control it any longer.
