I think it would benefit from a good Seiko rubber strap. Leather just looks wrong.
Like the dial.

Looks like it has an aftermarket overlay. No "Japan 7A38-7140" label at the 7 and 5 position. I like it though agreed on leather looking wrong.

That model looks much better on it's original bracelet. There are lots of obscure and very cool 7A watches that we never see. This is my favorite.

The text is clearly visible in the OP photo although it won't say 7a38-7140 as that is the casing number. The dial code should read someting like 7a38-714L or similar.

To save you guys sweating it, here's an extract from the 7A38-7140 SAA051J's specification in that thread on my forum. Dial: Part # is 7A38713LX999. Seiko's database shows no dial colour, although it is predominantly Black (with white printing). A Yellow lower dial ring which surrounds the bottom (constant seconds) sub-dial carries the lume pips and minute marks. Dial markings: SEIKO (printed), QUARTZ Chronograph SPORTS 100. Bottom of dial ring: JAPAN 7A38 713L T Suwa symbol. PS - As for the OP's Never Seen One Of These.... makes you wonder why some people bother registering on a forum. Care to expand on this condescending comment?

Clearly visible on pc though.

Your PS. Seiko7a38 is ridiculous, just because someone hasn't seen a certain model they shouldn't bother registering on a forum? Maybe divers are his thing, or LCD's ...judging by your handle 7a38 are your special area, I really hope you know everything about every Seiko that ever left the factory, otherwise statements like that make you look like a fool.

Care to expand on this condescending comment? I've never seen that model, what does that say about me? This guy is some piece of work...he just banned me as a member of his forum for asking for an explanation of his attack on me here. Here is the text of the PM he sent me: Subject: Consider this an expansion
"I see you deigned to make your annual visit. Well don't bother coming back". This is obviously a very emotionally unstable person. He's exercising what small amount of power he has by banning me from his little forum. Paul Skett you are simply a coward...first you insult me for no reason and then, knowing you would lose the discussion, you hide like a baby. A man would have admitted his error and apologized...but obviously you know nothing about being a man. Why we need his type around here is beyond me.
