Let me preface this thread by saying rather proudly, I am a homebody. There's very few other places I'd rather be than home. However, with that said, I married a woman that loves to travel. Couple that love with her niece (and her family) being in the US military and you have some world travelling to do! I had to make a decision about what I was going to wear on these trips (England, France, Spain, Italy, and various trips in Central America including Nicaragua). I certainly had to consider unscrupulous airport TSA (Thousands Standing Around) agents and hotel thieves as well as just the silly accident of dropping it in the English Channel (didn't happen, BTW!). Just like walking into a casino, you have to be willing to lose whatever you take in! With that premise established, I knew I couldn't take anything that was of value to me, I'd be too heartbroken when I lost it. Therefore I decided to get something I didn't care about and wouldn't be upset when I lost it. Wouldn't you know it, I haven't lost the darn thing yet! I'm actually getting a little attached to it. Let me introduce you to my second most important travel companion: It has nearly everything a world traveler (pun intended) could need: time zones, alarm, light, secure and comfortable strap and clasp. Yes, I unashamedly admit, the darn thing is growing on me! What's your travel companion? Thanks for reading! Dan

I too am like you in the sense that I never travel. The only traveling I ever do is a yearly trip to Vegas and when my Son lived in Phoenix we traveled there about once every 3 months or so. However whenever we do go someplace where we will be gone a day or two this one ALWAYS comes with me.....

I color coordinate watches to what I'm wearing so if I'm traveling I take my quartz Seiko LK in 3 or 4 dial colors. They're great knock around watches as well and having just come home from a 3 month extended vacation I can tell you that these are the watches I'll always take when traveling.

I'm nearly 50 years old but I still pack shorts, tennis shoes, and tee shirts when I travel - my G-Shock seems to match it all! D.

I like going places, and also like Dasher, don't like being cleaned out of valuables. I always use this as a precaution in going about to different places, but if it was stolen, I surely would miss it too. It came to me all beat up, so I did a hard polish and it turned into a .... " Chrome Watch ". My wife calls it .........." The Chrome Shop Job ". Man you couldn't get this guy anymore Buffed and Shined. Seiko 6309-7290 very dependable too. But it now has a Black Bezel insert cant stand those ........... " Pepsi Ones ". It came from ... " Ramons Treasure Chest " too. Attachments:

For the traveling itself....probably my Casio GW-5600J....solar powered so no battery worries...atomic so the time would be correct regardless of my location....and utterly reliable: For something a little "nicer" for going out to dinner, etc. I'd probably just grab my SKX009:

Traveling for me right now is driving from Kansas City to Council Bluffs. I wear whatever I grab!

I typically bring a few, and they do vary...but this one is always in the bunch.

I like to take a trit tube watch so my Traser fits the bill...tough quartz and viewable at nite...One time visiting Canada, I took two watches - one for Vancouver time and the other for Japan time:) Traser Crysis3 Bow by blingmeister, on Flickr

Old faithful. The only watch I'd trust my life with... (and as a diver have)!

I normally travel with two watches. It all comes down to what I'm doing that day.

Isn't that funny - there were like 4 G-Shocks listed as travel watches!
We will be going to Washington DC in a few weeks only for a long weekend, but I will probably take my G-Shock there too. I've just heard too many stories about things disappearing while in the airport security check-in, hotel rooms being robbed while the owner is out touristing, and just other odd random "oh no!" moments.

Keep those watches not on your wrist wrapped up inside a sock in the dirty laundry bag, etc. That's my 'safe' when I travel.

I wear this '97 SKX007J to concerts, festivals, vacations, etc. It probably has enough sunscreen stuck in the bracelet to fully cover a medium-sized African elephant...

My go to travel watch is the SKX007, fairly easy to replace if anything bad happens, blingy enough for an evening out (on jubilee) rugged enough for more adventurous sight seeing or swimming.
