Don't know that much about them but I have some coming in soon. What do I look for when they arrive. Serial numbers , etc. or Book dates on them ? Never owned such books before that's why. Rod , I'll post it then you all can let me know, when they come in. Aloha

Rod , I'll post it then you all can let me know, when they come in. Aloha Here's what they look like inside. They're fairly droll, but the information is absolutely critical if you are doing serious work. These have saved me a few times already. To get good scans, technically, we would need to sacrifice the book by slicing off the spine. I'll think about it and see if I can bring myself to do it, maybe with one of the slightly older ones, which will still cover the info we want. Also I just noted Rod beat me to this! I believe they release them yearly or bi-yearly. Other watchmaker's I've met guard them with their life. I tried to borrow one from a guy I know for 70's OMEGA's and he would not part with it, even for a few hours. In other news, I think if we can build a GOOD library of this stuff, it might be a more compelling reason to migrate here from other forums.

Aloha , Ok great to know. As far as putting back the book together I know a little about ... " Book Binding " and I can redo them back if I need too. I have friends also that do this so I still can save them if taken apart. I can also have them copied (Both side ) and remake another book if I need one. Thanks for the information to all this and I'll keep up on it. Aloha Sir

I created a thread in the reference section, with a link to this thread...could definitely come in handy. Thank you Sir for the ahead of time procedure to establish this subject. I think it will be very much appreciated I would say when going to it and used later on. This will probably be welcomed by many and used also and be very beneficial to many others. Like I said if I know what to do then I can contribute what I have found out with others also. It's the initial part of not knowing what to do with what is had to ones possession of such materials.
But once known it will help many to accomplish what they might have needed for so long. This will be another part of this Forum to have much more information and help to existing and incoming new members also. Thank you Sir very much for permitting and appropriating this to the Forum for its future use. Aloha

Tell me - how do I know the year my Movement Parts Catalog / Technical Guide is from? I am guessing early 70's based on the caliber list... I have not found a date in there...

They didn't date the blue folder tech guides. They were supposed to issue updates every so often that you'd slip in the folder. Tell me - how do I know the year my Movement Parts Catalog / Technical Guide is from? I am guessing early 70's based on the caliber list... I have not found a date in there...

Aloha , Well I have these at a friends house now because he knows more about them then I do and helps me with all this when needed. In all there is about ... 5 Binders and 16 different types of books and a lot of envelopes with pamphlets and paper work. Also have about 8 more books like these with other information also. A package full of paper work and some other things. Bought all of it in a Box .... 3 years ago from a guy in Texas for ...$16.00 USD + $6.00 shipping. He told me he did not know what they were about but got them from another guy. So I said I'll take it and one would be very surprised to see what it is all about and I was surprised to see them because I know what they are about now. Louis These I have from ...1968 to 1974 maybe around ...8 - Different type of them.

The folder was not dated, but I found a date in the Catlogue Index. So my Watch Parts Catalogue is from May 1972. It would follow that the Tech Guide is from around the same time.

Ok chaps, maybe I'm clutching at straws here but with all of these casing reference guides that members have surely someone must have one that includes the part number for my 7009-8580 bezel?

that model isn't referenced in either the '73 (where quite a few 7009's are listed) or the '78 (where loads of 7009's are listed) casing guides.

Hello Rod,
I am doing a complete rebuild of the Seiko 5206-6060. I have casing guides up to 1970 but the case in question is a 1971. Have you also, a Interchangability List for 1971 ? I can't seem to find anything online.
Can you help?
regards
George
