I believe the MM300 is assembled in Japan but your guess is as good as mine as to where exactly the main components are manufactured
I would assume that the case parts are manufactured outside of Japan based on their current business profile.
The movement is supposedly hand assembled in Japan

I've seen inside one before during a crystal swap for a customer .... No, there isn't any "made in china" engravings inside like the Sumo
Randall Bensen documented a case disassembly and servicing of a customers MM300. I believe you can search his Yuku forum site for the thread and corresponding photos.

Technically speaking there isn't a hood to pop....
I remember reading an article showing that the movement and assembly are done in Japan proper. Same workshop as some Grand Seikos. Just not entirely sure if the case is made in Japan.

I guess it would matter what year it was manufactured.
If any were 100% Made in Japan my money would be on the early ones but I remember reading those had thread problems on the crown and stem.
