Hi all.
I've been frequenting a few watch sites for a few years, and thought I'd check out WristSushi after reading an interview with Spencer Klein on Worn and Wound. I recognise a few names and one or two of you might recognise my handle from infrequent posts elsewhere.
I've been checking out the site for a few weeks, and I guess it's time for me to introduce myself. I'm from Hobart, Tasmania. About as far as you can get from most of you in the northern hemisphere - although I see there are some Aussies and Kiwis here already.
My first vintage was a 6139 6005 blue dial that I got really lucky with in 2008. Awesome condition and an absolute steal. It was a match for the beaten up old example my father in law bought in the 70s and still wore. Every time I saw him he'd ask if I was wearing my Seiko and roll his wrist up to show me his. This watch will never be sold.
Fast forward 6 years and I have a small collection of mostly vintage watches Tissots and Seikos - a few 6139s, a 6138 and I'm starting to get into the 6309 divers. My current project is gathering parts and rebuilding a junked 6309 729B.
I look forward to joining in the fun at WristSushi.
Cheers, Tristan
