Wearing a vintage Swiss mechanical alarm. Like a Bell-Matic but not.

Pulled out the BocTok modded with a Murphy Bezel and Yobokies insert. The canon pinion was also crimped to resolve a problem with lose hour hand, apparently this is common problem when trying to quick set the date, when this movement does not have a quick set function.

Восток And does swinging the hour back and forth from 8PM to Midnight count as a quick set? Because it does have that.

It does and it works but loosens the Cannon Pinion much faster than it normally would if you had not "quick set." Loose Cannon Pinion causes the minute hand to slip and makes it appear that the watch is running fast and slow. Generally this is not fixable, but you can if you remove the Cannon Pinion and re-crimp it, that's what I did with a pair of dull nail clippers and a broach

Going to wear this one for a while... Just for kicks, I put it on the Timegrapher. It displays a nearly flat line in all positions except one. The variance is roughly +5/-7 seconds with perfect beat error and amplitudes ranging from 230 deg to 284 deg. In the 12 o'clock up position it gains 9 seconds per day. Over all I'm very happy with this 30 year old watch 7dfe79adc2f0

My desk is a mess. (Yes, I do usually keep my wallet right in front of my keyboard; it's so that I don't forget to put it back in my pocket when I leave.)

New running buddy. sold as utterly dead, and came in as described. Minor battery leak that roached the circuit and glued the datewheel to the plate. Minor issue. Cleaned that up, put in a replacement circuit, and here we are.

That's the most Reddit-appropriate wrist shot I've ever seen. I'm trying to count how many X-posts you could get out of it. /r/mechanicalkeyboards /r/militaryporn /r/military /r/history /r/Gaming /r/gunnit /r/guns /r/Seiko /r/Watches /r/PCmasterrace /r/somethingimade /r/pics /r/nintendo

I believe the Seiko 7006 does that for the day of the week as well.
