So, was it worth the sell price?

Not me. I couldn't justify that sort of outlay for a beat up old Seiko :-)

Nice gesture :winner: Hopefully someone here got it. But if someone here got it, is it a good buy? I traded mine for $300 instore credit with a world renowned watchmaster many years ago. As John (Cougar) Mellencamp (depending on what year you quoted him) said "And there's winners and there's losers But they ain't no big deal, 'Cause the simple man, baby, Pays for thrills, The bills the pills that kill" I have no regrets. Motophoto is an OG Quadruple OG on the bike forum long since vanished. Believe it or not I can't find a pic of my 62MAS so it has yo have been at least 8 years since it has been gone. The only watch I ever regret selling was my 6309 Scubapro Repro 1 of 4 dials from Ramon that I got form Shawn Taylor who I got m,y 62MAS from and the only reason I sold it was because I wore it too much.

Can the 62mas dial be cleaned? What's on the markers? Is it corrosion or something else? I looks like it'll clean up to me and likely just need a re lume. These dials always look worse behind old scratched glass.

The dial put me off on this one, the minute markers are very faint and some are missing. On the plus side the case and caseback are lovely and the movement isn't seized. I gave up at $625.

As far as the dial goes , I don't think they can be cleaned as some of the finish is probably lifting. I would like to clean mine but too scared. The markers and the lume can be cleaned if you use the right guy. You can now get a bezel insert that is nearly there from a couple of sellers. The ones done through Noah were spot on if you can get one.The ones that have been spun down like the one on the watch look nasty. Price on the watch is a little high as one much better went for around $750 a couple of weeks ago. As I have said before these things are a bit under priced at present as they are much rarer than 6105 etc. 5 years ago genuine bezel inserts were getting this money alone, so I suspect they are all gone. Cheers Phil

I prefer my 6105-8110 to my 62MAS so I sold it to a Wrist Sushi member a month or so ago. I still say for the money they may be rare but they are over-rated but they are worth what folk will pay so who am I to pass judgement. Each to their own and all that rot.

Myself I find the aspect ratio of the hour markers on the 62MAS be a little too wide to my liking.
I was hoping this auction would fly under the radar but knew it never would.
Still I respect it's place in Seiko history and would love to own one but only at the right price. I am not sure that will happen but I can keep looking!

Congrats on that one ....Josh. I saw that one Josh , but said little to small for me. Glad you got it. I was looking and browsing and it came up but I went for the Aqualand with the old dial I really needed. I got it and incoming in a week or so. I was interested in and took a shot at a .... BIN and asked, he said you probably get it cheaper. But I gave him a reasonable price but I did bid and I got it. It also had a very Amazing and also interesting serial number, check this one out for a C022 Diver watch........ Serial Number: 0020032 ( It is listed as a ..... 1980 number ) Seven Digit's and I emailed Citizens about it and they told me it is a ..... : " Legit Serial Number also ". I am going to keep this case and case back on the side as a special one to keep.
