The SBBN015 is EPIC! Highly, highly recommended. I sold my Sumo, which I didn't wear because of it's 12-to-6 case size, and bought this watch. The Sumo isn't any wider than the 300 Tuna, but is much longer from top to bottom, which is what I had trouble with. I have 7" wrists, and this fits very nicely, Big, but not too big. I bought this on Ebay from a fellow who just got it in late December from Chino Watch in Tokyo. It was up for auction and I wound up being high bidder, but didn't meet his reserve. He was pressed for cash, so he sent me a Second Chance offer. I paid much less than new retail, and it included an uninstalled new sapphire crystal. The watch didn't have a mark on the outside, but oddly had a bit of black stuff on the 6 o'clock dial marker. It looked like a little sliver of black plastic, maybe from the movement. I snagged one of my girlfriend's unused super-fine makeup brushes, pulled the movement, and easily brushed it off. If any of you are considering one of these, GET IT! One of my New Years resolutions was to get a MM300 or a GS. This isn't the MM300 I had in mind, but it does qualify as a MM300!

Congrats - the SBBN015 looks great.
Terrific reissue of the 7549-7010. Wish Seiko would do this for the 6105.

Congrats - the SBBN015 looks great. Terrific reissue of the 7549-7010. Wish Seiko would do this for the 6105. Can you imagine a 6105 reissue with something like a 6R15? That would be awesome. I also have a nice JDM 7549, but I really prefer bracelets. And the stock one on the SBBN015 is great. Plus, I don't worry about scratching the SBBN. If I scratched my 7549 I'd be bummed.

Better shot showing how it sits on a 7" wrist. Heavy watch plus heavy bracelet makes for a nice balance. I didn't have to resize it, but I did have to "rotate the clasp" by removing a link from the 6 o'clock side and adding it to the 12 o'clock side.

Well done Cobra', your enthusiasm is well justified. I bought a new SBBN017 and fitted a Wjean Oyster to it, the Tunacan's have to be worn to be fully appreciated, I share your 7 inch wrist size and they are much better for comfort than the Sumo. Getting a SBDX001 would be a mistake as they are as big as a Sumo and thicker too.
BTW; I was contemplating a MM300 and GS this year as well but decided against the MM300's heft and although still too big got a Shogun instead, it least it is light.

Very nice, congratulations. Surprisingly I have yet to try any of the new 300m Tuna Can's :facepalm:Somehow I seem to stick to my 7549's and my sbbn007, because I could never get used to the idea of wearing a 300m Tuna on bracelet. Maybe I was wrong... Looks great! Enjoy!

In shopping for this watch, I came to basically the same conclusion about the size of the SBDX. It is one of the reasons I went with the SBBN...the other, of course, was cost. The Sumo, as much as I liked the design, was just too big. It is the same problem I have in looking at the SUN1x series. I just don't think it would wear well on my wrist. As I mentioned, it is not diameter that is the issue with this kind of watch, it is the top-to-bottom length. Watches that are 52mm...54mm...56mm...in this measurement are just unwearable for me. And I seriously considered the Shogun as well.

In the past, most bracelets fitted to these watches in lieu of the strap were bracelets that were modified to fit or fit poorly. The pin-and-collar thing, however, is a pain in the ass. Whomever designed this system should be killed, burned, and buried next to Hitler.

Congrats Man....and Welcome to the Tuna club! I've had several of the modern SBBN0XX series "Tuna" divers. Great watches...completely bulletproof in every way. Recently, I shifted more towards the vintage 7549 series and count myself lucky to own a 7549-7009 golden tuna and yesterday I received my most recent addition. A one owner 7549-7010 in unmolested condition complete with the original box and intructions.

A one owner 7549-7010 in unmolested condition complete with the original box and intructions. Very nice! That one is a real score! The one thing I do like about the modern SBBN MarineMaster series is the applied matte-finished SEIKO dial text. The older 7549 models had this printed. The SBBN's looks like that used on the 6105. I have a 7549-7010 I got years ago, as well as a 7C46-7009...also purchased years ago. Both came from Ebay, but both also came from Seiko forumers. They have gotten a bit expensive, so I am pretty much afraid to wear them. I had the 600m 7549 also, bought locally, but it was in relatively poor condition (used for many, many years by a diver) so I flipped it. I put it up on Ebay at a fair price, and the guy who bought it turned right around and tried to flip it again on Ebay for more. He had to relist it 3-4 times, each time reducing his price, before finally selling it for an undisclosed offer. Don't know if he made the profit he sought. I knew I had it priced right in the first place!

Congrats on finding a great looking watch! Thanks! I believe 2015 marks 30 years for the caliber 7C46 movement...making this movement absolutely ancient by Seiko standards. My 1000m Tuna dates to 1985 (March?) March, 1986, and I have personally not seen a 7Cxx watch any older than this. Has anyone else? I guess if it ain't broke, why fix it??

Congrats to both you lucky owners of new Tunas. Both are awesome looking watches and I'd love to someday own one. Maybe if I hit the lottery or once my kids are on their own. Till then, I'll just have to be happy with my SRP227 mini Tuna with one of Harold's SS shrouds. A great watch in it's own right but not even in the same league as a real Tuna! Hey Cobra . . . it's too bad the Sumo didn't work out for you. They are great watches and I love mine but then again I have an 8" ham hock! I guess you couldn't ask for a nicer replacement for a Sumo though.

It's why I flipped a Helson Tortuga from my 7.5" wrist. My TST scratches the Tuna itch & it's bang-on size wise.

Nice score, Aaron...really nice! I've got an SBBN007, but I really like the look of the black insert.

They're great.
But they've got a 7C under the hood? Which, as you say has been made for close to 30 years? Then why in God's name is it so f'ing hard to find 7C movement parts like the coils, daywheels, datewheels? Everything is discontinued, out of stock, unavailable. I should be able to find parts by the bucketful, but nope.

But for some reason, they aren't. To be fair, Seiko probably doesn't make too many 7C-powered watches every year. The movement is pretty much reserved for expensive, high-end, mostly JDM divers. It wouldn't surprise me if they made more 7S26s in a month than they made 7C46s in 30 years. Apparently, there are two variants. The 7C46A and the 7C46B. Not sure when the switchover was made.
