You've won big time.
The crown/stem alone is worth $100.00, seriously.

Amazing!
Mad congrats to you for that pickup. I've picked up a few that looked like that that indeed were as bad on the inside - guess I've soured on the gamble of the game.
I stand corrected and salute you!!!!

It's amazing that the dial can be in such a sad state and the movement look so nice and shiny!
Congrats on a nice snag! "He who dares, wins!"

I stripped the movement down tonight and cleaned each part. I've stopped using the ultrasonic for the movement parts and now use only essence of renata, rodico and peg wood.
Everything was very clean considering, but I did find a few particles of glass in there.
As I was cleaning the chronograph center wheel I noticed something 'odd' about the end of the shaft, a closer look revealed that the tip had gone - rusted / snapped off.
Oh well, it would really have been too good to be true. Luckily I have a couple of spares, one NOS and another from a scrap movement.

I finished the re-build this morning, it went really well. The replacement centre chronograph wheel worked perfectly and the only other part needed for the movement was an intermediate date wheel, one of the teeth on the original was mashed. Here it is looked lovely and clean and running strong and with the autowind rotor fitted I had a very nice set of hour/minute hands waiting to fit, and the minute counter hand was good enough to use without re-painting. the dial I've used is pretty good - not perfect but more than good enough. This was one of my first dial re-lumes on this style of dial and its not great, but again, good enough. I had a go at re-finishing the case - the top side was in good condition but the 9pm side had some deep scratches (like the watch had been dragged across concrete). I had a spare pusher and spring and fitted new gaskets to both all it needed was a new crystal (NOS) and a chrono seconds hand. I didn't have a red one, so for now I've fitted one I've re-painted white. It matches the lume nicely and is easy to see. I've fitted a NOS Seiko stelux bracelet using some swedefreak end pieces, and here it is: I need to relume the inner dial ring triangle. When I do I might have a go at touching up the worn silver markings. I'll probably also paint the hand red, but for now its nice to have it on the wrist.

Here's the broken centre chronograph wheel tip (such a shame!!) and the mashed plastic gear:

I re-painted the seconds hand and lumed the inner dial ring marker. This one is finished now

Fantastic result. I have such bad luck with 6139s - they look good but turn out to be dogs, nice to see one that breaks the rule for a change.
