Anyway anyone hazard a guess as to who the guy in the dial is. Well it has an Arabic day wheel so my guess is someone Middle Eastern. Given the lack of free expression there I would venture to guess that it would only honor a member of a ruling family or the President at the time of whatever country it came from. Given the age of the watch it's someone from the 1970's. It's not Anwar Sadat of Egypt cause he was bald on top. Doesn't look like a royal family guy cause they dress in the pajama garb with the Lawrence of Arabia head thing in formal pictures. Gamal Abdel Nasser died in 1970. Maybe it's him? Or I think he looks more sinister like Hafez al-Assad of Syria who ruled from 1970 until 2000. Hair part is on the correct side, looks like a Middle Eastern mustache, massive forehead, receding hairline, and fits the time frame. So my guess is Hafez al-Assad. Elementary my dear Watson, elementary.
So Gene Hackman and Bill O'Reilly had a baby...

I think its him. My google-fu is messed up by their algorithms based on past searches. Tried using "Arab heads of state", and it kept popping up videos that were getting blocked.... Thanks Sherlock.

I hope to be corrected if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that the crown-lock feature started with the 6105-8110/9 and that the crowns on the 6105-8000/9 just turn freely. I'm afraid you'll have to find your own brother for a 50th birthday gift. :-)

Just buy an "nos" bracelet XAA301 For 6139-60XX for 230€ it's already not cheap but compare to 160€ who is asking for a fake one on Ebay ,It's not very expensive. Before the introduction of fake in the market the price was rising & rising ,like 350/400€ ,now is more or less a price like 2/3 years ago... I have others with the price tag at 1500¥ perhaps a late one...?

I snagged an extra myself off ebay for about $220 usd the other week. But I paid $440 usd early this year for the one on my March 69 beauty.
Still trying to figure out why sometimes the clasp writing is sideways and other times square to the clasp.

Not as inspiring as Bertnet's, but a fully functioning movement I need for mine which has a flawless case, bezel, crystal, and dial. At $75.00 it is cheaper to buy and swap than servicing mine. Seller said it was his father's and all features work. We'll see. He started bidding at $25.00 and had a best offer. I offered $75.00. He said $125.00. Then $100.00. I said I still need to be at $75.00 because it needs a new crystal and case polishing, etc... Then I got one last message agreeing to $75.00.
Seller pics.

So many awesome vintage varieties out there like these. I wish I knew how to service movements because I would have a huge collection of them
