Those are really, really nice in the flesh. I have a couple green ones, a white one, and a blue one.

Finally picked up a 3823 VFA. I have been looking for one of these for a while now, but nearly all of those I have seen were either in relatively poor condition or sold for more than I wanted to pay. Ideally, it would have been a 3823-7040, but I will certainly take a nice 3823-7001.
This one was listed as 'needs battery, not checked inside'. Can't make out the first digit of the serial number, but I'd guess it is from '73-'74. It looks to be in fantastic shape, and I got it really cheap.
Fingers crossed.

Looks like it's in great condition! Hopefully it will just need a battery change and will be good to go.

So I paid $65 for this and praying it turns on! Seller who seems like a nice guy told me it was his grandfather's who collected watches and was now moving into a retirement home. He has some old Seikos from his Navy days that he's keeping but was selling others. This was one of them. According to the seller, his grandfather took out the battery and put the watch away over a decade ago. It was working then. So hoping it just needs a battery and maybe a cleaning. The seller opened the battery cover at my request and said there was no corrosion. Fingers crossed!

Aaaaannd now I have black one, too. When it rains, it pours.
I spotted this black 3823-7001 a few days after winning my white one. Put it on my watch list while I was waiting for the white VFA to arrive at Buyee's warehouse, just in case I wanted to throw in a bid on it. I did, and won...by about $1.50!
Black VFAs are much harder to find. You will see a black one for every 10 white ones. This one is in very nice condition as well, but has a dial with some small issues. While it sold for considerably more than the white one did, it sold for much less than I have seen other black examples sell for. This one is from June, 1974.
Also not running, so fingers crossed...again!

Well done. The anti-reflective crystals on these are very effective, so I think the black dial will present very nicely.

Some years ago I bought a Citizen Chronometer Officially Certified with a good movement, hands and dial, but with a fairly average case and crystal. Looks like a replacement case has come up - with the original cut glass crystal in what is hopefully reasonable condition..

I really have grown to love my black 6458-6020 diver so I've been hunting for a white variant (6458-600b). Reminds me of a mini vintage sbgx115. Described as running let's see.

I already have a 6602-8040 in excellent condition and on an original bracelet, so why do I need another one? Well, simple answer is ‘I don’t’ - but this one happens to be a birth year and month example 😉 and for a little under £20 it was a bargain. Sellers pic.

Did I need this? No. Do I have one already? Yes. (Resist dial)
Priced very fairly with a half a dozen watchers within 5 minutes of the auction being listed. I figured Christmas bonus is coming and didn't want to miss it.
This beauty is from 1978 and in GORGEOUS condition. It appears all original. Sharp case lines, bright bezel insert, mint lume, crisp dial and inner bezel, scratch-less crystal, nice bracelet, virgin looking case back, cool Roman day feature, etc... Just a little love tap on the bezel at 4:00.
Nice dirt buildup under the bezel and around the case that'll be orgasmic to clean What? That's strange? If anybody can relate, one of you wackos will namelessly agree in shame.
