Melbourne's second lockdown is proving bad for my wallet. New crystal and she is good to go. Chrono seconds hand still has the flange "blob" which is a tremendous good sign ! This arrived today and is in very good nick (externally at least). Case looks like it hasn't been touched. Nice sharp edges. As you said the dial needs a replacement or a buff but other than that I'm pretty surprised. Internally though.. the chrono reset doesn't work so Adrian at VTA will be getting it at some point.

My pics. Love the colors. Totally cleaned up. Set the local tide. Limited edition from 2013. I collect the G-LIDE series. I cleaned up little scratches after the pic with Polywatch. Looks new. $40.

Bought a third 7546 to steal the mainplate for my 7548 project watch. And once again, I’m not sure I can bring myself to destroy it. They are fine looking watches. This one the second hand twitches which is a great sign, just needs a service and proper clean up, this is after taking about half a pound of dirt off the case before I dared to take the back off. And with this one in a sort of mini-lot came a 6922. Never had one of these before; not sure how long it will stay with me but Seiko certainly can do a blue dial whatever model it is. This pic is after the case has been 30 mins in a hot ultrasonic following a pre-clean to the case. Needs a new crystal and gaskets and the movement is sticky, runs a bit then stops so it needs a service. Both came on original and correct bracelets which have had about half an hour so far in a very hot US bath after a pre-clean. The US now looks like a decent mulligatawny soup.

Not in the post the buyer collected.
Did anybody on the board get the Sumguy Seiko SRPB43J1 on Gumtree yesterday in the Glastonbury area for a VG price.
I was pipped at the post.

I don't need it... But my offer was sent before I even had a chance to think about it... (not that it's unwelcome )

I don't need it... But my offer was sent before I even had a chance to think about it... (not that it's unwelcome ) You definitely need it. The hand set must be restored to match that beautiful dial and the crystal is begging you to polish or replace it so we can see it’s magnificence. You are improving the world, one Seiko at a time. For that we are grateful.

Got this for $20. Removed and threw out the drab ugly blackish blueish bezel and band. Have an OEM bezel and band from another model. It’ll look awesome. Metallic flake navy blue. Gross!! Cleaned 👍🏻

I hit the Solotov lottery and bought this on the cheap. It “needs a new battery” despite being a Tough Solar 😉 It’s a rare color in the older G-LIDE series. Sells for a high premium. But I didn’t pay one. When these aren’t in power saving mode and sit in a drawer for months the capacitor drains to zero. Exposure to very bright light will turn it back on. It took 3:18 in blazing outdoor summer sun for it to turn on. I’ll let it sit all day in it and then clean and polish it to look even newer. Quick snap

Killer watch my friend Great find Thank you for sharing it with us Pics when you get it all together please God Bless,John Thanks bud! I couldn't pass it up for $20. The face is a really nice shade of a metallic blue and the module is a positive display but with a mirrored background. The silver accents are nice. I have a really nice new bezel and band to make it pop. I'm a big fan of these older series from the late 2000's as the new ones are larger and more plastic-like. They're pretty much bulletproof so a good cleaning, plastic polishing, fresh battery, and gasket and you have a great watch! If the bezels are in bad shape, you can always score an OEM on eBay for a few dollars.
I've assembled a nice unique collection of these older ones without spending much money. They're fun to restore and you can wear them. I like displaying them too.

I was looking for 4S15 watches on eBay and came across these. The sellers pictures suck and I will have around a month wait to get them. I had no idea that Seiko sold their 4S15 to another company. I knew the Yema Seaspider had it, but it was under Seiko at that time. GSX doesn’t really have watches that I find attractive, but when I saw the 4s15 in these I decided I could live with the looks. Anyways, I bought them both.

So I’m always on the hunt for bargains. 2 of my favorite models from 2009 or so were in sorry shape. I paid $63 for both. I really only buy if cheap and don’t have deep scratches and missing paint unless I have OEM replacements. Take them apart, clean, polish and reassemble. The plastic polish is a miracle, removing dirt, smudges, oxidation and minor scratches. The towel was filled dead red paint. They look new and refreshed ready for my wrist and collection.

Something a little off track from 61##, a SPB003J1 (6R20A) Premier One owner from new 2006 model, with box and papers. Sold a 40 year old garden trailer and a fountain pen yesterday and the funds were burning a hole in my Paypal account.

A book and a dead 7546 with a gold dial colour I’ve not had before have just arrived.

The Roman numerals caught my eye. I changed the band. So it’s unused. Cool dial. Very detailed. Loads of various finishes. Same with the case. Fantastic movement. I’d put it up against some of the top Swiss. Enjoy it!!

I saw that one last week Don and was almost tempted, but I’d just bought my SARB so thought I’d better not!
