Are you sure Yeah mate, inbound as we speak, 0028 of 1500 LE manual wind movement with 21 jewels, 22 karat gold electro plated to 4 microns, I think for my 60th this is a special watch indeed. I come from the generation that wanted a gold watch on retirement so I think it's great. It's also special because the first watch I bought for my wife was a gold plated orient manual wind for her 16th birthday long before we were married, in fact she had just left school. We are High School sweethearts. She is still my wife and she still owns the watch and it still works. I bought it for $64 in 1980 in an Orient AD in Nundah. He sold me on Orient over Seiko and Citizen. Awesome story on both counts !

So the 6309 arrived. The original strap stunk like cheap cologne and loaded with human DNA on the back. It was stiff as a board. I put it in the ultrasonic cleaner with heat and it melted all the gunk off and it was left supple but grayish black. I soaked it heavily in the pictured product that I use for detailing cars. It totally restored the color and look. I am keeping it in the sun to help the application soak into the rubber. Turns out the serial number dates it March 1977. It has the Suwa symbol on the dial, beveled day date window and JAPAN A on the case back all of which confirms 77 and not 87. Very nice condition for the age.

I got this... Have not bought much lately and I was getting itchy for something to do. I think mostly it is gonna be fine.. That bracelet won't do but the original is getting stupid expensive. I will have to decide on something else. Henry

My TST just arrived this afternoon from a refresh at Duarte's shop at NEWW. New movement (NH36), date wheel, ceramic insert and crown. Aside from the excellent work that Duarte does, the turnaround is amazing. Less than a month between Alberta and Rhode Island!

Uncle Seiko has some nice, high quality options too.

Didn't come in the mail, but was found locally. This is a Pulsar Y563-603H 100m skin diver from April, 1981. I did some quick Google-fu, and the original reference number is JG075. Original MSRP was $140 which would be a shade under $400 today.
I found this on the local OfferUp site last week. Hemmed and hawed about buying until today. Seller was asking $110, then $80. I offered $50, and we settled on $60. Just had to drive down to the state capitol building...through the wildfire smoke...to pick it up.
Condition is fantastic. It really only required a new battery and a light cleaning. Neat little watch! I dig the subtle brick-like pattern on the dial.

I’m on a bit of a roll with these! Another Prospex Alpinist strap heading my way. 3x the price of the last one, but still pretty cheap. And this 6602. If the movement is no use I’m hopeful the dial is in good shape.

I dithered for a week or so (as it was full RRP) and when I went back to the dealer it was gone Too bad! This model has become pretty scarce (the fate of most of Seiko's LEs). The couple on Ebay are too expensive and aren't selling (deservedly). Unexpectedly chanced upon this (full set) and grabbed it. I'm pleased . . . this is pretty much the only "newer" Seiko I've been wanting, I've gotten more into vintage of late. (O/T: You can officially consider yourself an influencer / enabler. I ended up ordering the Baby Willard after seeing your posts! )

Might be here today, The 21mm version Hirsch Duke for SPB001J1. Update: along with a 4K25AZ from Seiko UK Update: The Hirsch has not arrived from In-Time and the tracking number they issued was duff. Their CS were talking up until last Friday but have since stopped. It's now with Paypal as a dispute. The 4K25AZ arrived from Seiko UK within 2 days of paying.

Nothing coming in as I have car repairs needed. Probably wearing my G's to save save money and waiting to wear my Orient 60th anniversary gold watch. It will suit me in retirement .
Heresy I know.

I thought this might be interesting for a tenner - Allwyn Indian handwinder, ‘movement licensed by Seiko’. Probably a variant of a 7000 calibre inside - I’ll find out when it arrives!
