My trusty 6309, it’s been with me 30+ years. Back from getting a movement swap.

The 6309 is an awesome watch, I’d love to add an original one to my collection but I think the time has passed to do so for a fair price I've just bought a nice 6309-7040 for less than $130. I will post some pictures when I get it back from a service. They are still out there, its down to luck. Don't give up.

I just made a discovery. I knew I had this one sitting in my watchbox and while I can't recall its history, I do know it needs some work. The crown is probably pooched since it only engages counter-clockwise. Other than that, it still runs. I guess I do have a "Hong Kong" dial after all, given the absence of the Suwa logo? Must send it off to Spencer one of these days. Won't change a thing other than have the crown and potential mechanical issues addressed. How 'bout that, ya learn something new everyday! Well, it would appear that yet again I'm mistaken. This baby has the MT small Suwa dial. I had no idea that the small spec beside the model number was a logo. The absence of the words "Hong Kong" along the base of the dial is another clue.......duh!

I just sold a beater 6309-7040 yesterday.
Down to only my immaculate 6309-7049 Hong Kong Dial for now. See this photo for details on the Hong Kong dial itself. I do still have it brother the beater 6306-7000. Not sure I want to keep the 6306 after seeing another members PERFECT specimen in the flesh.

I love vintage BOR bracelets and this Looks like a great combo!

Thanks for the reply HiBeat, looks great! Currently I have Larry's Waffle (v1 i think) and am very pleased even though at times i do find it slightly plastic-y.. Here goes on a fitting 'stage'! (now if only i had a Scubapro 6306! )
