This today: I've just finished getting it running. It was listed as "NOT RUNNING,MOST LIKELY THE COIL IS DAMAGED" which was certainly true. In fact it had suffered massive battery leak in its past life which had destroyed the everything under the train bridge and also the magnetic rotor. Oh yes, and the circuit. There is also rather bad staining on the dial, which thankfully (and surprisingly) is not visible at normal viewing angles, the only obvious clue is when you see that the dial code writing at 6pm and the suwa symbol at 3pm appear to be missing. They're not, the silver print has turned black!! On the plus side, the case, caseback and bezel are in great worn condition, and the crown and bezel insert whilst worn are not abused. The dial lume has a lovely aged patina (probably the main reason I bought it, as it would be hard to recreate) and the hands have cleaned up OK. I've tried to match the dial lume colour but I think now I've seen it in natural light I'm going to have another go. All in all a nice watch with a different look to my other 7548-7000's.

I never thought I would like a Monster until I got one. It's not really my style at all but I really like it whenever I am wearing a casual enough outfit to suit it.

Hang on to this one Tim. As far as I know, it is the only Seiko watch that got the short lived 4r15 calibre movement. The 4r15 was a beautified 7s26 and also the base for the 4r35/36 and all the complications that came form it like the 8r28.

Great fact though, you should create a thread on the topic.
