This just in from our very own 'trandy'... I responded to Tim's FS post and asked if he would ship to Canada if I chipped in the extra cost of postage. He not only obliged me but sent it priority post with tracking. It got here in 4 days. Normal transition from anywhere in the USA is two to three weeks with First Class Air. As Tim noted in his FS post, there are a couple of issues. 1. there is indeed a small scratch on the crystal but I can only see it with the loupe and I was unsuccessful in getting the camera to capture it. I have many watches with crystals in worse shape than this and I still find them perfectly serviceable. 2. the 'mushy' stem action in position #1 is there but not really a pain at all. I set the day, date and time all without the crown slipping back in, but because I was forewarned, I just held it a little firmer. 3. The see thru back is fine with me as I'm one of those odd people who actually like the looks of the 7sxx movement and it's nice to see it in action on occasion I'm going to bond with the watch for a while then possibly give it a service as we don't know the service history. I also have an NOS 7s36B movement that I could put in to further improve the view through the case back. Anyway, I am really happy to finally have my very own SKX007 and at a price that is almost a steal! Thanks again Tim 7dfe79adc2f0

Peter...the pleasure was all mine. Enjoy! I think the pleasure is half mine...at least now that I have the watch strapped on my wrist Now if you ever have an SKX173 that you want to let go; then I would have a complete set of Seiko divers with this case and black dials! There are a couple of 6309-7290s, a couple of 7002-700x, a 7002-7039 and now this 7s26-0020. The SKX173 would complete....oh wait, there is that damn SKX399 from the Philippines. And just when I thought I was so close

Good things come to those that wait. Just like when you got yer 6309 eh Peter? Well done. Yep and I am truly blessed with good friends; even if I have never met them face to face. The 6309-7040 was a combination gift from half a dozen friends to whom I am forever grateful. Their generosity is not lost on me. Watch mending and servicing has taught me the patience that has brought many of these watches to me

ok, swapped the strap for the $24 solid link oyster bracelet I got some time back... It is quite comfortable and doesn't seem to want to rotate on the wrist like some of the nylon straps do. I'll leave this on for a while and see if it suits me better than the mil style straps.

That's kewl, Peter! I have a couple of those, but they are both modded. I need to find a stocker. I think you'll find that the Oyster is more comfortable than nylon straps.

Here's mine, on a leather Zulu: Bought it for my son, really - he's born late August last year and the watch was made in September. Was as close as I can get. Also got a birth year 6309-7040 for myself.

Congrats Pete. These are great watches and future classics IMHO. Very comfortable, run well and pretty plentiful. Good call on swapping to the bracelet! Looks great. Enjoy it!

Ha! Seems odd that a dude like you hasn't had an SKX007 before! Now, what about the obviously superior SKX171!?!? - Thomas

I wonder how many SKX007 seiko has made.
I think it was released in what, 1996? Its approaching 20 years! Seiko should have a celebration for this model alone.

hahaha! there was a time when you said you could only wear midsized watches!!!!! hahahahah! Now look at ya! ) Well you are partially to blame for this This is the limit to what I can comfortably wear. The larger Sawtooth didn't stay with me simply because it was a mm or two too big and I was constantly aware of it. These watches simply melt onto my wrist and are forgotten until I look at them. So, I guess it's true, we should never say never
