Since Col Pogue wore it, I'd say that's an easy yes, but I figured I'd share... I've been looking for a 6139 for some time. I finally found one a little while ago. It's not perfect. It has it's fair share of scratches and an aftermarket band. But, I wanted a watch that could take the abuses of flying and not have to worry about a $1000 NOS piece taking hits. Anyway, I figured I's snap a picture from today's flight. I hope you enjoy.

Apologies for taking so long to get back to this thread. This was taken at the top of a loop, pulling through about 30-45 degrees nose high, inverted in a T-6.

Awesome. Our AF uses the older brother, the PC-9 as a prop trainer. It has the nickname "The Plastic Parrot". Do you notice any loss of accuracy after a flight? In theory you should. Here is a Pilots watch given to German pilot officers. Tutima Military Chronograph with the Lemania 5100, this baby can take a 10G spin, turn, climb or decent with the Chrono running with no appreciable difference in time keeping and still keeping within COSC specs. This was only 1 of many "True" pilots watches the Pouge isn't a pilots watch and I would love to see it even working after a flight in a Jet. Cheers Mark

I haven't noticed any problems with it or loss of time while flying. I'm going to guess that it can take the 4-6 Gs that I give it on a daily basis fairly easily since it has proven to take a lot more being launched into space.

You're right and should know! Do we still use them? Mate, sorry to have to correct you, the CT-4A was affectionally known as the "Plastic Parrot". They were all give to various "Air Training Corps" upon retirement, with the arrival of the PC9 they are all loving cared for and kept in the original "Safety Orange" and white livery. Not sure if a few escaped to the wild, (need to check the register) but it wouldn't surprise me! I was posted to ARDU out at RAAF Edinburgh (Adelaide, as you'd know) and we had a rotation for taking a flight in one of the many aircraft we had back then. A new bloke wanted to take a flight in the trainer Mirage we had then, he convinced one of the pilots to take him up and jump the queue for a flight! The Mirage could pull high "G's" so a G suit had to be worn and these were bloody hot to wear, but the Mirage had A/C so not a problem. Well the "flight line" crew and the pilot dressed him up in the G suit and marched him out to the Mirage and straight past, to a CT4 parrot! The pilot was wearing shorts and a t-shirt and told him it was either now or never Well after ½ an hour being flown around in a winged greenhouse wearing his G suit, the poor bloke was completely spent, apparently they had to lift him out of the aircraft! No one ever tried to jump the queue again.
