My only "real" jobs have been in IT. My focus is Unix, network, and storage. What are you working on? I've been doing this for a long time, and it's still fun, so I think you picked a good field. Myles I'm first level support at a university. One day I hope to get a doctorate in my actual field (social science research) but that's a while off. I'm just going to enjoy not being on a college student's budget anymore! Sent from my SCH-I605 using proboards What University, if you don't mind me asking? I work in an IT shop at a University too, but on the Financial side.

This is pretty much exactly what I'm looking for if I were to go for a GS instead of a KS. If I could find something like this I would definitely pay what it was worth. But apparently this dial design is rare? Anyone seen one of these with a dial like this before?

But apparently this dial design is rare? Anyone seen one of these with a dial like this before? These aren't particularly rare. I see them on YJ pretty regularly. Both this - the date only 6145, and the day/date 6146.

I see this model fairly frequently, but what I'm looking for is this specific dial, with the shorter indices and the printed cross on the dial itself. I haven't been looking very long so I don't really know how common they are. I'm probably going to keep my eye out for either one of these or the 524X-6000 Special Chronometer, and save up a bit more so that I can buy one that's in extremely good condition.

I understood that. Was saying the crosshair-dial 6145-8000 is not that rare, and was noting that it appears in day/date form as well: I wouldn't give up hope on it, and I think you'll be happier with it than the KS Special. When you say you haven't been looking for very long, what do you mean? Just a few days, weeks, months, years? For size comparison, here's the dress-watch-sized GS43999 with the KS Special and the Snowflake:

For size comparison, here's the dress-watch-sized GS43999 with the KS Special and the Snowflake: Yeah, I have small wrists so honestly I'm perfectly fine with anything down to 35-36mm... I do have a different 5246 and it fits me just fine. What I meant by not looking for that long is that even though I knew that I loved the KS and GS from ~1968-1972, I haven't been looking to buy them for more than a week or so so I don't really know a lot about the market landscape. But I'm willing to be patient to make sure that I get a good one at the right price!
