I'm in as a lurker/gadfly as well. I'd like to commit to more active participation, but I can't at the moment - hope to be more involved anyway, when the tiime comes!

All the steps will be here for you to get at when you're ready. Should be a lot of fun and I think those who have never attempted something like this will be surprised at what they can accomplish chinathumbsup.gif

For those of you who do not know, we are getting ready to start a group project. It will cover all steps in servicing your 6309 movement, more details can be found HERE. I'd like to start a list of interested members, hopefully we can get some decent participation. If you're in, please post your intentions in this thread. If you have questions, now is the time to ask...thank you. Participants

I am in, as long as I can get a donor off the bay...(I do have a movement with problems ,but it has issues and will need parts.) Rob. No problem Rob. Myself and others will have spares to get your piece working right. I am hoping that we will leave no sacrificial victim of this project behind. All will be revived and returned to happy healthy useful lives a063

I've got a couple compete 6309a movements in my spares. I'd be happy to send you one to tinker with for the group project. Let me know Shawn Thanks Shawn, I'm a New Jersey boy, I will be happy to purchase one of the movements. Rob.

Rob. (sorry, I posted this last night, but only the quote went through..)

Hi, I'd definitely like to join in with this, unfortunately I'll still be at sea on 21st July, not home till August but I'll be watching and taking notes and asking questions in preparation for my own attempt once I'm home, hope this is ok! Thanks!

I am trying to find a junk watch with a 6309 movement. And whereas I find them on eBay I realize that I would have no idea on how to remove the movement from the watch case. I also have no idea on how to remove the hands. Will this discussion cover those two procedures? What tools will I need to remove the movement from the case (I do have a case back wrench) and the hands and dial from the movement and will I need a movement holder?

We will cover the basics of removing the stem/crown; getting the movement out of the case; removing the hands and liberating the dial. Then we will focus on the movement smiley-dance001

I haven't located a project watch yet either, I better get a move on.
