Just sold my SKX007 last week to buy a 011 and ended up with this instead. This is my third SKX007/9 and so far 3/3 have come with chapter ring alignment issues that I've had to correct. Seiko really needs to step up their QC these days. I don't have a single alignment issue on any of my vintage divers.

Did you file or shim the tab on the chapter ring? Myles

Myles The first one had a misprinted chapter ring, so I bought a replacement and installed it. The chapter ring on this one is properly printed, but the tab is small and not a perfect fit for the notch in the case and was moving slightly loose inside when I got it. That had happened before with one of the replacement rings I got for the previous SKX007 (I had to buy 4 chapter rings till I found the right one). So here, since I wasn't really in the mood to dismantle everything and search for another properly manufactured chapter ring, I rotated the chapter ring to the proper alignment and used a tiny bit of rodico to fill the gap in the notch due to the small tab and hold the ring in place. It's a pretty lame fix, but going by my luck with this model it works for me.

Using a dab of Rodico is a great idea. Another solution would be to 3-D print a bit of plastic on the side of the tab on the chapter ring. Alas I don't have access to the necessary equipment, and I try to avoid having to re-fit fiction-fit crystals. Thanks, Myles
