OK. In case you missed it here is the list for the July WRUW today (what are you wearing) daily themes. wristsushi.proboards.com/thread/8388/official-wrist-sushi-calendar-eventsSince Tim blackwalled me and subsequently DQ'd me from any possible related contest when he put me charge of it I guess I feel "obligated" to keep it going and encourage participation with a contest So I will offer a USED tonneau (do you know how hard it is for spell check to try to match that one and it still won't ) cased Pulsar quartz chronograph as a prize to the member who posts the most overall relevent watches to each days theme at the end the month and end of the contest. In case of a tie at the end the winning tiebreaker will be "What time will Cooter clock in to work on Wednesday August 5th" in an hour:minute:second format. The only 2 rules are you must post in the daily thread on that day and you must use a new picture taken that day and the day /date display (if applicable) must represent the current calendar info for said date. The same watch can be used multiple days as long as it meets that days theme and a new picture is taken that day showing the current date. As for the prize: a used stainless steel tonneau cased Pulsar quartz chrono on an unused Pulsar branded leather strap with a new battery installed today. I think I could knock out 9 of the 31 days with this watch alone And a special thanks to Spencer for his contest years ago where I got my beater fixed which will cover 2 of days posts for me. thanks Spencer

I'll add some more prizes to the ring, so Josh, you can add -
1 x My repro 6139 indicator gears 1 x 6139 gasket set (you choose rotating ring/non rotating ring) 1 x 6309 gasket set
I'm not sure how it would work, you're the boss.

Does each category need to be a different watch, or can you wear the same one multiple days if it fits the criteria?

Josh says his prize watch could knock out 8 or so days, so it sounds like multiple days with the same watch is allowed.
I could probably do a different watch every day but not sure how many contestants could pull it off.
Maybe number of different watches is first tiebreaker?

Maybe number of different watches is first tiebreaker? That would require more work on my part for the score keeping

Well if Cooter's arrival time is the final tiebreaker, I agree creating more work for you would just be pouring salt on an open wound.

If I don't have 31 watches, can I use this competition as an excuse to buy a few more? My wife would understand wouldn't she? Even with double ups I'm not going to meet at least two criteria so I think I'm out of the running - unless I can score a pocket watch more than 50 years old quick smart.

I think we'll grade on a curve and throw out day one from the scoring as it is already off to a shaky start.
To be clear anyone can wear any watch they want and doesn't have to follow the theme if you don't want to or don;t have a watch that qualifies and wants to wear something else.
IF you do want to participate in the contest: Make sure you take a picture of the days watch that day with the correct day / date showing (if your watch has a day / date window) and share a little history or story about it.

This contest is far too complicated. As Kevin O'Leary says: I'm out! But good on you Josh, for taking on the challenge

I know I won't be in at the end, because I'll be hors de combat the last five days of July due to another knee surgery, but I'm in for as long as I can be.

You need to choose one watch that meets the criteria for all five days and wear that in hospital the whole time. Looking at the list it's not impossible. Seriously though, good luck with the surgery.

Well since the first day of scoring is now closed we have 25 participants who could go 30 for 30.
Remember everyone who wants in on the competition to take a picture that day with the correct day showing (if applicable).

I'm going along for a fun ride since i'm not going to meet the criteria for a few days. And I certainly don't have 31 watches. But it's fun to rotate out some of the lesser worn watches.
Thanks cdgod for organizing. Cheers.

I guess we could waive the rules per some "Americans with Disabilities Act" statute if you can convince a hot nurse to sport your watches for you during your outage
