Not really an inquiry, but pointing out this obvious Feiko. I would like to see the case back and clasp on this watch. Plenty of these being listed on Gumtree. They come from Wish.

Stumbled along this this morning. What am I missing on this dial? I don’t see any text along the bottom, is it just faded or is this a feiko? Surprised because it has over 15 bids on YJ. Derek

Looks authentic to me. Just a bit faded. Although I'll defer to the experts on Seiko divers whom may have better judgement.

What do you think about this one? It's close to the max I can pay but just in case, I love this model It has a small defect on the crystal, so it needs replacing.

Hi Guys, New member here who recently got into Seiko watches (couple of years now, SKX007 got me hooked). If found this forum while trying to figure out how to recognize if a 6138 8020 dial is original or AM. I want to buy the watch in the pictures but as it's not cheap, I would welcome the opinion of some experts. Much appreciated!

But I can't spot yet why they are fake. (or original for that matter) Thanks for the tips!

No problem, it's a lot of money to find out you have a fake. That's the easiest way to spot one. The older aftermarket dials also have black sub dial. It should be a dark navy blue with semi gloss finish. The Seikosis ones are the hardest to spot as it gets most things right except the date window and lume.

6309-7040 Fake or fortune ? I think it's laser or spark etched.

6309-7040 Fake or fortune ? I think it's laser or spark etched. To me it looks laser or etched one of those. Also when comparing it to mine you can see different details in the wave itself. Mine and that are 1 year apart. I also compared it to my 6309-7049 from 87 and found the same thing with the wave. 1 definitely is different with or without polishing. 2 could possibly could be from that example being polished but doesn't look that way. I say feiko but please correct me if I'm wrong.

From time to time I am thinking about getting my first diver. But every time I find one I don't buy it, because I am afraid it is full of AM parts. To start with I am thinking of a black 7002. Now I am trying to learn how to spot fake parts. This one just ended on ebay and I didn't buy it because I thought it isn't original. Question is to what extend. Can you tell me if I am right? After comparing lots of pictures and reading the buying guide on watchuseek I came to the conclusion, that most probably the case is original, but nothing much else. The bezel inlay is clearly AM as there is not enough space above the '50'. The dial looks somehow printed and the colour of the hands does not match the hour markers / should be more greenish. Am I right?

Am I right? You are right about the Bezel Insert/inlay that is AM because the bottom of triangle containing the lume pip have to go, almost under the crystal/plexi. BUT yes the 50 looks wrong to.. The dial is difficult to say from the picture but I think it looks genuine. The lume on the 7002's dont always patinate the same. The indices turn a greyish colour (Almost like when lume get moist and start to turn black/grey) and it looks beautiful. Don't pay to much for the 7002's as they don't hold the price like the 6306's.... yet at least. Hope it helps a little and good luck finding a nice one Cheers
