Anyone know anything about this Citizen Diver? Sellers photos, can't make out the model numbers on the back, and it does have a damaged crystal. What would be a reasonable price. Thanks, Max

I've got a box of these that are broken. They are a good little watch. Smaller than the SKX and NY0040.
They have an 8200 movement. Better finish/accuracy than the 7S26 and handwinding, what more could you want?
The replacement crystal is about $20.

These typically go for $60 to $70 in good used condition.

Thanks for that, I couldn't make out any numbers and I'm not familiar with the Citizen Divers.

Thanks for that info Adrian, I guess you are the man to see when I need the crystal, at $40 I thought I would give it a shot. Though I have to admit the fact that you have a box of "broken" ones doesn't reassure me of their longevity!

They're Ramon specials, so they went for a trip through the jungles of the Philippines, NEVER saw a service, were held together with glue and a band aid and eventually ended up with a broken crown and thrown into a river. That said, the movements fire right up after a service. I've got a box of these that are broken. They are a good little watch. Smaller than the SKX and NY0040. They have an 8200 movement. Though I have to admit the fact that you have a box of "broken" ones doesn't reassure me of their longevity! All of the two dozen I've gone thru were Ramon specials. I only ever bought ones with crowns. Most were 'broken' and didn't run but many actually did run when I got them. The 8200 movement is almost indestructible. They nearly always stop from lack of servicing and a good cleaning with fresh oil gets them tight back up to running well. I still have 7 or so and they are a delight to grab, give a little wind, set the time and go If you get one that is running; good and if you get one that has actually had a sevice; it should be good for many more years of reliable timekeeping.

Finally Arrived, seller stuffed around and only posted it last Wed. Right info please: Case back detail: 4-824164Y 800497 GN-4-S What part of the first number gives model # and movement #? Does the serial# read the same as Seiko regards date etc. What does GN-4-S signify? Would anyone have the part # for the crystal and where is the best place to obtain? Sorry a lot of questions but my Citizen knowledge is sadly lacking. Some pics.
The rest of the silly questions, the bezel does it just pry off? What is the setup with replacing the crystal? and does anyone have a data sheet for this model? Thanks for you help and patience. Max

Hello! Is there anyone out there? Max There's something out there Sorry, can't help you. I never owned one of those or paid much attention to them. You'd have to ask Peter as he has a few of them.

Hello! Is there anyone out there? Max Hi Max, To answer a couple of questions for you; the 4-82XXXXX tells us the watch has the 8200 calibre movement. You've verified that with your shot of the movement. One interesting thing about the movement is the rotor, it puts the movement close to the beginning of the long run this movement has had. I'm guessing the 800 part of the serial number dates back to Jan 1978 or perhaps 1988 at the latest. The bezel pries off just like thew Seiko diver ones do. The crystal can be pushed out from inside the case with your thumb. The new crystal should be installed with a fresh crystal gasket and done with a press so it goes in straight. The dial is a nice fresh AM one and so are the hour and minute hands. The seconds hand is wrong for the watch but may be genuine OEM from a dress watch. One of the nice things about AM dials and hands for these watches is they are almost exact copies of the original ones. The lume is often the only giveaway. I don't know who to recommend for the crystal but the usual suppliers will probably have something for you.

Thanks that's a great help the other thing I am not sure of is the case model # to order the crystal, everyone seems to call them NY2300, but this is not reflected in the numbers on the case, I understand Seiko case numbering system but not Citizens. The "4-824164" is the model number. The crystal you need is part number 54-L5334G. The parts house here in the States shows them being about $18. It appears that those crystals require a gasket, similar to that found on a Seiko, and that part number is 393-7752. It's about $9. FWIW, Citizen still makes the Ny2300. A new one is about $175, so you did pretty well there. Here is the Boley.de page for the parts. You may just be able to call a parts house where you are with the right part numbers in hand.
