It's in pretty poor shape but keeping time so far. By the look of case quality I'm guessing it's in of the many entry level Swiss brands from the 60's to 70's or have I caught a gem?

Is it a compressor-style case? If so, it could be a little jem. A pity about those lugs though.

Bracelet is obviously wrong. No WR rating on the dial takes away from the compressor design. Rotating chapter ring crown and stem and gear are missing. Looks like you have a project on your hands. On the plus side at least it "should" have a 25 jewel movement and not a 1 jeweler.

The stems still in there so fingers crossed so is the gear. I will polish it up and expose it's movement tonight. I'm guessing AS 2066. Just a random punt though. It is marked 200m waterproof on the caseback have no idea how this is possible with an acrylic glass.

I like the dial. It looks a lot like an old Omega Seamaster.

So I pulled it down to find. AS 2066 as expected. I've given it a quick sand yet to polish. The gear is intact but I expect part of the stem has broken. So that will be a reasonable challenge. Keeps perfect time despite being pretty dirty. Cam

The AS movements are rock solid and will run until they explode. The oil can be gone, they can have a bug in them, and they run. AS stems *should* be easier to find. From what I understand, And Phil Sinclair could tell you more, the ORVEN watches were cased here. Imported movements and cases, but dialled and cased here. There's a few similar brands you see like FELICIA and LAURIS. At the time they were aimed at various market segments and sold through various channels. They switched the names around for those channels. The factory that made them wound down in the 80's from what I understand and was in Victoria. So I pulled it down to find. AS 2066 as expected. Hi. As Adrian said, these brands were mainly entry level watches put together in Australia for the local. A watchmaker friend tells me that her family were out workers for this factory and spent evenings banging these things together. The father was a Rolex trained technician was immigrated to Australia in the 60s and the whole family got involved to get established. The A.Schild movements were quite good and most of this old stuff runs well if it doesn't have water intrusion.
The import duty on complete watches was quite high but not on parts so locally cased items were reasonably priced.
There was also another brand called Orvin which was exclusively sold by Sears in the USA.
Cheers Phil

Thanks. I love knowing about my watches. I will have a look about for a spare crown but I really doubt I have the supply to repair. Pretty stoked the gear is in good nick. There was some corrosion on the bezel stem so my fear is even if I find a crown that suits, the stem will be too short and too corroded to undo. Cam

This is your new friend. It is a stem extender - Crowns for that will be a generic Swiss waterproof crown. so you can use anything as long as you get the pendant size correct. I reckon it's worth fixing for sure, it's pretty cool. Thanks. I love knowing about my watches. I will have a look about for a spare crown but I really doubt I have the supply to repair. Adrian: what's the smallest extension length you can go. It's literally a small stub of a setup even at full length. If it needs extending I expect it will only need 5mm. I'll send a photo of the gear and amputated stem.
Phill: AS 2066. Runs and keeps time. Can't see any case ID. Many Thanks re background and tips for repair. Cam
