I've been eagerly waiting this one- the most I've ever spent on a used watch! Not often I see that postal mark What could it be? It looks like an Upside down Arnie! It has the H601-5481 case back. Happy Cam!

She's a beauty. I think I like the upside down dial better. LCD at the top looks odd.

I've never been drawn to the top digi panel. I like this one way better.

Not a fan of the Analog / Digital 1980's trend but if you are going to own one congrats on going with the rebel side and sticking it to those Arnie fanboys

So my first impressions... I do like my metal bracelets. Might get myself a black one! Positives compared to the h558- 1-the lcd is easy to read, easy to set and the alarm on of and chime can be managed easily from date or time mode. 2- the shroud is used but not damaged and the watch is super clean! 3- the hands and lume dots are perfect. Not sure how bright it will be. 4- the chime has a symbol and not the alarm flashing to signal hour chime is on. 5- the profile is low and the watch feels very comfortable, even a bit nicer on than the 6309/ 7002 that would have been the 150m diver alternative of the time. Pretty stoked, especially the condition, I think the 558 is still my preference, but this definitely is a great follow up to the iconic Arnie.

Nice watch!
The biggest positive the H601 has compared to the H558 is...movement availability.
The H558 is specific to the diver-type watches, and can be quite hard to find if it ever dies. Of course, you can cannibalize H556s and H557s, but the H558 itself is scarce because it wasn't used in too many models. The H601 movement found in this model is the same as the H601 found in dozens of uninspired dress models from the late 1980s and early 1990s.
It's sorta like the difference between a 6105 and a 6309 in this respect. The 6309 movement is MUCH easier to find.

Very good comparison 6309 vs 6105. Because if necessary you have the 6106 variant but even still it doesn't equate to the amount of 6309 and 6319's out there. It's funny. I had a quick look on eBay to see the price difference in sales, H558 vs the H601. I can see about 5-10 sales of h558's to 1-3 h601's Must be a random snap shot that doesn't really reflect what's really out there. I have a H558 soon to be finished by Adrain (VTA) it's looking awesome. So I'll put them side by side soon.

I completely get people's aversions to both digital and analog digital. I enjoy them in my collection. They are definitely a tool watch, which most of my collection by definition are. Here's my current 3. The only one that I think Is missing is the Citizen Aqualand but I sold it to fund the Sea Touch that is getting way more wrist time. Cam
